So it seems like there are only four of us who originally filed back in 2004 who were transferred to California and are still waiting for our AOS interviews or approvals:

UK_Geezer 08/30/04

Karenina 05/03/04

Kathryn41 07/23/04

Pooker 02/07/04

Pooker filed in Nashville and the rest of us filed in Atlanta. Don't know what it means except that we are all in the same boat - adrift somewhere in USCIS waters.

Hi there

I have just joined the forum and have just come accross your message. I too filed back in 05/04 at the Atlanta field office. I was also transfered to CSC on 9/20/05 and I was approved today. Iam sure that this was becasuse I asked for a referal to be put on case to see what is happening, last week so may be that lit the fires, Unfortunatly I have just applied for my 3rd renewal of my EAD so thats $180 down the drain.

Hi Rich,

Welcome to this dubious club - and congratulations on your approval. Did you receive the 2 year conditional or the 10 year card? That sucks about the EAD, though. I emailed them two weeks ago, got a response last week and got touched twice so we will see what happens with my application.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I haven't received my green card yet, I assume that I will it will be the full ten year one as we have been married more than two years. I will wait and see about that. i posted the EAD an hour before I get the EAD so I am hoping that they realise that i have been approved and send back the cheque but i am not hoping for anything. What do you mean by 'touched'? I have seen it metioned and i have posted message but nobody has replied.

Thanks

I was wondering if they grant the 10 year without an interview as well as the 2 year conditional. There was one other poster who was over the 2 year marriage mark but received the 2 year conditional card without an interview after transfer to CSC, so that is why I was asking.

On the USCIS site where you check the status of your applications you can open an 'account' and request email notification any time the status of your account changes. When you sign in to your account it shows you your file number, the type of application, whether you have requested email notification or not and shows the date that someone last activated your file. Since your status message doesn't always change when someone official looks at your file the only thing that changes is the last date on the file. A touch is when that date changes but the file status doesn't. In my case it means they looked at my file May 18 (the day they responded to my email) and May 19th, but nothing changed.

WEll no more online update/change in status since 19th May BUT I've just come home and there was a message on the answermachine from CSC. They simply said that they would phone me back tomorrow - that it's in relation to my daughter's AOS ... ohhhh Im feeling very, very sick ..... has this happened to anyone else?????

Having listened very carefully to the message again - she did say at the end of the message " ... I'll try and call you back tomorrow to save time".

Save time??? Sounds ominous to me ....

I'm hoping you get your 10-year green card. We had one member here who also had to wait for more than 2 years for her GC. She finally got her approval without interview but she got the 2-year green card. It is possible you will get a conditional GC because of the lack of interview. But, it's just speculation for now. Let us know which card you'll get.

Rich,

Can you perhaps cancel the check that you sent with your EAD application? I guess if they don't get the money they won't renew the EAD, but that does not matter because you have the green card now.

I stayed by the 'phone all day and they/she didn't call me back. So, I sent CSC an e mail explaining that someone had left a message for me and they didn't call back. I asked in the e mail if there was a telephone number that I could have or failing that, could they let me know by return e mail what the situation is.

The reply I got was:-

The California Service Center (CSC) DOES NOT accept inquiries from the general public via e mail. All inquiries must be submitted to THE National CUstomer Service CEnter by calling 1-800-375-5283. The National CUstomer Service CEnter will route your inquiry to the appropriate USCIS District Office or Service Center, and will track your inquiry to a final resolution. IF YOU'VE received a transfer notice regarding your case please inform the National Customer Service Center at the time you submit your inquiry. THe National Customer SErvice is available MOnday through Friday, 8.00 a.m to 5.0p.m, PST".

This afternoon I received the following reply to my email:

All security checks have been cleared at this time for your I-485

application. The I-485 will be pulled

from the file room and forwarded to the monthly processing shelf. The

file will than be assigned to an

officer for review. A decision or transaction should take place within

60 days.

Sounds like Chocolaterie and I are on the same shelf now. I wonder why some CSC transfers get processed so quickly and some seem to get stuck in a closet somewhere until they get an email about the case? Oh well, if we get approved without an interview it will be worth the wait.

Well, my file was touched again today. It was also touched May 18 and 19 after they responded to my email inquiry (no touches since Feb 19 before that) and now again - but no email messages and no status change. Isn't life fun?!

Karenina - that was a strange email message for you to get back. I wonder if it is the start of a new trend where CSC will no longer answer emails from applicants? I hope not! I hope you find out soon what their inquiry is and that it is something small and inconsequential and won't cause any problems at all.
