So, after calling USCIS again today and finding out that they are currently processing cases from March 2006, I have to apply for AP asap before the fees are getting up, so I can travel to Germany for Christmas...this is sooo annoying!!

I wished I had done that right away, but I thought I would have my gc within one year...I guess not!

Does anyone have experience with getting a congressman involved? How would I start this process?

Google for for your Congressional Rep by zip code

Go their Website

Download the forms, they should be under constituent services or case work

Either mail or fax the forms in. Call the receptionist to ensure they received it.

The must be signed by the immigrant

Its not too hard

Keep a log of who, when, and what was said. (trust me, this may come in handy)

Thank you for the info, I found the website of my congressman...there are no forms to download, I have to write a letter basically with all my information and an authorization for them to inquire on my behalf...and that is my question..can I write all this or my USC husband in my behalf and I sign it too?

I would think if I have to sign it, I can write it, just want to make sure?

Got my RFE medical back from the CS today, and had it in the overnight mail to CSC by 12h30. Hopefully things will get back on track ASAP. The CS gave me copies of EVERYTHING, "just in case"

Will keep you all posted, I included the skin test too, for the 'just in case'

09/16/09 Received APPROVED letter in the mail - no update online

APPROVED 09/11/09 EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

09/24/09 Email received with Approval information.

Congrats! Ours was transferred a couple days after yours and pending a few days later as well so hopefully we will have the same luck and be approved soon!!!! Here's hoping!!!!!!

Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing
