My husband's green card was approved the day after his EAD was approved... so much for the EAD Now we can relax for a while

Woooppppeeee!!!!!! Green card ordered! Now how is that to lift my spirits on a friday morning when I have way too much work to do and was feeling oh so tired. YES!

Sending out lots of good luck to all those waiting.... especially to those who have been waiting more than 6 months... just when you least expect it it wll happen to you too!!

PS so when they say can take up to 30 days to produce... what is the actual normal length of time? I go back to Scotland on Tuesday next week and would love to have it by then but I guess that is just not very realistic, will just have to use advanced parole on the way in to the USA again.... we are off to celebrate our wedding on that side of the Atlantic with friends and family who could not come over here last October... a good old ceilidh is the order of the day a week on saturday in Edinburgh.. yeay!!

I would PM an expert like Yodrak or Dr_LHA- something tells me that you can't use AP once your Green Card is approved. I'd check on that before you leave the country so you don't have problems!!

OK so I got worried for a few minutes and called the USC line. I was told that my advance parole document was valid until the date of expiry shown on it... which is not until January 2008.

A tip for people trying to talk to someone at USC... choose the option for talking to someone about a change of address... I've found that way I always get through to speak to someone quickly and they can give me the updated status of my case. The nice man I spoke to today told me I could use AP still and I took down his name and id number in case there are any problems.

I just LOVE being kept busy with updating this list with all these APPROVALS!! It's great to see some of the older cases getting done at last!! My daughter has her second medical done today, who knows, maybe she can finally get off the "waiting list" soon. Keep those approvals coming CSC!!

We have almost the same timeline for AOS...and I have had no touches either since I got transfered to CSC....so, this let's me hope for something for me to happen soon as well!

The nice man confirms the popular opinion that the National Customer [Dis]Service Center should be renamed the MisInformation Line.

The AP document may be 'valid', but Advance Parole is not applicable to an LPR. You should be allowed back into the USA, but it shouldn't be as a parolee. Be sure to take with you on your trip anything you have that shows that your adjustment of status application has been approved.

My husband's card arrived 7 days after the e-mail stating the card was ordered for production.

Ironically the welcome email arrived the day after the green card arrived in the mail

Sorry Yodrak....won't happen again. I just thought that if you were given the opportunity, you'd like to help prevent someone from making an error that could lead to difficulty w/ CBP.

Well, go figure. I sent a status inquiry email to the CSC on 6/26 at 1:45pm and last night, we received an email from CRIS:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On June 26, 2007, we mailed you a notice.... blah blah blah

Coincidence? Hmmm.

At least we're finally approved.

Irishgirl, If you applied for the EAD and 90 days have passed you can make an appointment for your hubby at the local USCIS office and request a temporary EAD until the regular EAD arrives. We did that and within a week my husband had the Temp 90 day EAD in hand ---- When ever there was an issue that the phone line would not or could not answer my husband was on the line making an appointment to talk to someone in person --- although it took about a month to straighten the entire mess out --- Last Saturday my Husband received his Green Card --- I would say all due to our persistence and diligence to keep them on their toes.....
