We MAY have good news as far as finding James' medical goes but it was unofficially told to us by someone not in USCIS and so we are waiting to hear officially from USCIS about it, so keep your fingers crossed! Also, we are about to renew James' ead (I swear if his greencard comes shortly after the medical situation is resolved and before his EAD expires in October I will be SO pissed we wasted 180 bucks, but also glad for the greencard of course) and I have some questions I posted in the working and traveling prior to getting a greencard forum so if anyone wants to mosey over there and help me out with my questions I'd really appreciate it I don't think that forum gets much attention but I didn't want to post my questions in the wrong forum just in case.

They lost your medical, you complained and they "found" it??? Who did you complain to? They have lost mine too!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but i beleive that come october the cost of the ead will be considerably more than $180. The price increases are due next month i think.

I need to update my info here.....

well we were transferred to California way back in November....at the time I wondered if it was a mistake as we were adjusting K3-4. Well apparently it was a mistake as a couple of weeks ago we were transferred back to Missouri!! Grrrrrrrrr......

We received info yesterday that our AOS interview is July 23 in Manchester, NH.

Hey John and Annie you've now graduated to place #5 on the waiting list ... and me to 10 ;-) it's slow but at least it is moving.

I just called the 800 number as california centre are showing processing times of cases recieved in December. I was told that actually what I have to check is the processing times of cases for the office serving the area in which I live... in my case the DC office.... which has processing times of September. I was told if I had not recieved an answer to my application when the processing times for DC office were a month later than my case was recieved (in my case that would be dec 07) then an official complaint would be recieved and the case investigated. So for now I will continue to hold tight.

The only really annoying part of waiting is every time I come through immigration with my advanced parole paper I get sent to the little room at the back and bite my nails wondering if I will make my connection......

Congrats to those of you who recieved your cards and 'bon courage' to all those still waiting.

Been there and done that.

We have the following up on our case:

2 Senators

1 Congressman

1 USCIS liaison

1 Service Order

They all have sent back to us the same response "...pending the name check....blah blah blah.....due to national security....blah blah....no time line will be provided."

While I hold no ill will and agree that we need to ensure that National Security is not compromised, this system is broken.

Do you know that when the FBI name check is done and sent back to USCIS, there is no way for anyone in USCIS to know, unless it is physically checked by an immigration officer.

Do you know that there is no central system and in order for an Immigration officer to adjudicate a case, they need to login and check in five different systems.

Do you know that no two USCIS offices use the same file structure or systematical approach to adjudicating cases.

We need reform, not what the legislature is trying to sell to us, but real reform, from the boots up.
