If I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath. Just enjoy your life, don't think about it and let it be like a pleasant surprise when it happens.

That's what we are doing to avoid driving ourselves round the bend :)

Annie, we were just over the 9 month mark when we finally got our approval...here's hoping that be the case with yours. :thumbs:

I always wonder what kind of braniacs work for USCIS. They b*tch and moan about backlogs...if they just do their freaking job, the world would be a better place. Yes, your list of transferred cases will keep growing and growing and growing, like a big pile of dishes, unless you get off your lazzy bum and do something about it. How about approving more cases? What's the logic behind all this madness? Usually, when my work piles up, I try to work faster, like doing the dishes, the longer you wait to do them, the harder it'll be to wash them and the more they'll pile up. They wont get washed magically if you just sit there and stare.<end rant>

:ranting: Well I am officially calling today, CSC RANT DAY!!! :ranting:

I am not a happy little camper at the moment. Keep in mind that mine and my daughters I-485's were filed back in August 2006.

After those incompetent idiots at the USCIS lost my file for over six months, which put my daughter's on the back burner, sending RFE's for docs they had already received, which we had to resupply, forgetting to do my daughter's fingerprint and photo when they should of, back when mine was done, in September, she turned 14 in the meantime and then required FULL biometrics with namecheck, in April, which obviously came back around the 16th of this month, considering her case was touched then.

:wacko:NOW guess what has happened?!?!?! :wacko:

There was no email notification of this, but we just got another RFE on her file in snail mail.

For a FULL MEDICAL & G325A!!!!! :ranting: Because her medical that was originally done has now run out, their words........ :ranting:

So pi$$ed about this. Their incompetency has cost us more money, time, travel and worry. Of course we have to go get it done, jumping up and down at a senator isn't going to help, it will just get her case denied cause we didn't supply them with what they want and if she has to go back to Australia, well it is the same as denying me, I would have to go back as well.

But on a good note, I rang one of the doctors expecting to be quoted 100's of dollars for this Physical and was pleasantly surprised it will only cost $105 including getting the I-693A done. I am thankful for small fortunes.

Okay, rant over, I will go back to my corner now and suck on my thumb.

That really REALLY sucks! No two ways around it at all. I think that it is probably very sensible of you to jump through their hoops rather than spend even more energy on fighting it. However, you may want to simply document your case and send it to a senator or somebody - just in case you need their help later on. That's what I would do, anyway. Regardless, good luck!

I doubt it would make any difference, but I have everything here. Did all the copies of everything before I sent it in. I just hate the fact that my daughter is still in this limbo when she should of been clear of it ages ago. It is a worry every day. We have already built our lives here and said goodbye to our old lives in Oz. But there is always that concern in the back of your mind that everything will just fall apart. You read about it all the time and there seems no rhyme or reason to how these fools at the USCIS think.

After having rung the mis-information line several time and got accents I had trouble understanding, which weren't American, it makes you wonder why they have no empathy for what immigrants go through, obviously having had to go through it themselves or is it just payback cause they had such a hard time? Who knows???

They sure as heck better get their act together when they start charging triple what they are now. And I don't care that they say it includes the EAD & AP, in a lot of cases (like my daughter's) they aren't applied for anyways.

CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS - I-130 petition for married sibling
2016

Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

2024

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

Aug ?? - mailed I-130 packages for both mother and father
Sept 10 - NOA1 date
Sept 16 - NOA1s received

2014

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 20 - N-400 receipt date for my father
2021
Apr 21 - Biometrics appt.

2022
May 2 - Interview

May 20 - Naturalization ceremony
