Question: What is up with this whole CSC transfer thing - why are some ppl chosen for it and why is it so much faster and why doesn't it require a GC interview? (not complaining, just wondering) I'm sure this question must have been asked like a dozen times, but I worked 12 hours today, so maybe someone can offer me a short answer? :blush:

The short answer would be "We don't know" :lol:

It looks like only (or at least mainly) people who entered on a K-1 visa are transfered to CSC and approved without interview. Apart from that.....who knows why USCIS does anything....? :D

4th Sept 2008 - Biometrics-Detroit-Complete-'Touched'

5th Sept 2008 - 'Touched'

1st Dec 2008 - APPROVED-Card production ordered -112 days

8th Dec 2008 - USCIS mailed approval notice.

8th Dec 2008 - Received my 10 year Greencard in the mail. took 2 days.

Although I have the above date for approval my card actualy states the

2nd December..

Do we think that cases transferred to CSC have some of the same FBI namecheck issues that other cases do? There are people who've been on the list for a long time, so that seems reasonable to me, but without the interview, we don't have any contact with the USCIS to talk about that sort of thing.

Conditions Removed! Ten-year green card received 6/24/2009. No more USCIS for a very long time.

IMO, I believe this is exactly why there seems to be people jumping over others on the CSC list and being approved ...

The recent approvals from CSC have a transfer date in late September or early October and there are many people on the VJ CSC Transfer list that have transfer dates from the beginning of September that appear to be overlooked ... Which we know can't be the case ... Waiting for a FBI name check seems to be the only possible reasons for this ...

That's my thought, too. I just... wish there was more communication, so that we'd all have a good idea of where we stand.

(In fact, there's a post on the other thread indicating that at least one couple is aware that they are in FBI namechecks. So that seems very plausible to me. It'd just be nice to have a better idea of what's going on from time to time.) :yes:

ohh i agree ridley...they seem to not care.. we are only files on their desks mate..they dont know us but surely they perceive what a stressful time many go through with this kind of thing...as ive said before they could at least say on the form what they have done ...be it ..name checking .. or just sorting out your file...ya know what i mean...

since i have been approved there hasnt been a day go by that i have wished for more approvals to be announced in here...

being halloween i might have to cast some spells for you guys lol :whistle::P

I agree. The FBI name checks are the only reason for the "irregular" approvement practice that comes to mind.

Having pondered just that question repeatedly, I just wonder why my name check seems to be stuck somewhere. I always heard that the name checks can take longer if you have a fairly common name because there might be someone else with the same name, and USCIS has to make sure that that's not you.

But all my names (first, maiden and married names) range from unusual to extremely unusual......so that can't be the reason.... :unsure:

Oh well......I guess I'll never know :(

My EAD has been approved today.... :dance:

I am envious. I'm now at just about three months since the NOA on my AP and EAD - neither of which has had any touches or anything else. Also coming up on two weeks since they received the AOS RFE materials without any touches or activity.

What is going on at CSC?!?!?!?!?!?
