So I was wondering for days now...

Will the employees in the US Embassy in my country, speak English or Greek for example?

I am curious about in what languange the interview will be.

I know this might sound silly to you, and that the possible answer I'm expecting is '' English'', I just thought I should ask cuz you guys are awesome and don't judge stupid questions.

Thaaanks!

Your I-129f was approved in 85 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 225 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

They probably could speak Greek, at least in my country's embassy they speak my native language.

Tho I spoke in English with him. Approaching him I said "Good morning", so we spoke English.

Tho I applied for a tourist visa, so I'm not sure if it's the same when you apply for other visas.

Nothing around here is a silly question!

Most Embassy employees are bilingual. They speak English and the language spoken in the country they are within. So, usually for the interviews they make you choose in which language you'll want to have your interview in.

If you didn't speak English, they would ask you: how do you communicate with your fiance(e)?

Thank you all!

Point is, I think it'll be better for me to have the interview in English. Don't know why, I just feel more confortable with it and I'll prepare any possible questions/answers in English too.

Plus the fact that it'd be nice to show them you can actually communicate with your fiance.

Definitely!

I had it in English. I know that, at least at the Argentine consulate, they like it better if you do it this way; but i know people who has interviewed in Spanish without a problem eithergood.gif

Agree with Celeste.

Additionally, the CO may determine it as a "plus" if you are able to have your K-1 interview in English, and would corroborate your "level of communication with your fiance(e)" response to the likely question posed above by Celeste.

I agree!

At least in their case, I would wonder: '' Why do they want to move to the US and marry an American citizen, if they're not comfortable enough with their English?''.

I mean, I know that's not a reason for someone to deny their case since it's much easier to provide the right answers without the extra stress of speaking a foreign language, but I've heard many cases in here being denied because of lack of relationship evidence although they had a lot of it!

So yeah, it's better not to give them more reasons to put any reg flags in your case.

Can I ask something slightly random?

Can I have my fiance's parents write a letter to take to my interview, saying how and when they met me for the first time and what they think of me?

Will that help at all or will they think that it might be a bit ''biased''?

Ok, it's totally random.

It wouldn't hurt, but you may not need to. The evidence the Embassies want to see change from one country to the next; so I suggest two things:

1) Check out the Embassy Info and read the Reviews for detailed information on how things work for the Greek consulate

2) Visit the Regional Forum for Europe http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/95-europe-eurasia-except-the-uk-and-russia/

They speak both. After a brief exchange in Greek, they asked my wife which language she preferred to have interview in. And from that point forward it was conducted in English.

My Fiancee thinks she is terrible in English but she is better than many people who were born here. She does not have confidence but she is very fluent. Meanwhile my Tagalog is non-existent 8(.
