So how many people are going to be disenfranchised fro attending the DNC. So it's makes perfect sense to Dems to have to show 3 ID's to get in the convention but somehow it is racist to demand to vote.

Libtards amaze me. I really don't think any of them truly believe voter ID keeps honest people from voting.

Mash Here

How’s this for irony: Democratic convention organizers are requiring journalists applying for press credentials to display their state-issued ID not once, not twice, but three times.

The stringent ID rules for journalists at the Democrat Party‘s convention seem a bit odd considering the party’s broad, alarmist stance on voter ID laws. The ID laws have drawn harsh criticism from the liberal establishment, including Vice President Joe Biden who has called the practice “voter suppression” and MSNBC hosts who’ve

the laws “racist” and “a GOP conspiracy.”

But for some reason, ID rules aren’t racist when it comes to security at the Democrat National Convention.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't have some form of identification.

The only people I know of that don't have any form of id, do so for a reason. They are not productive members of society and do not vote anyway. Why is it such a big deal to require an id from people who vote?

Here is the story of a 93-year old woman who has no ID and is just now being told she can't vote in PA.

This has roots in the deep south, where despite the passage of the 15th amendment, people tried to do whatever they can to prevent black people from voting, for about 100 years. One thing people tried to do is to institute a poll tax, and one could argue that requiring an ID just to vote, which costs money, is the same as a tax. Really poor people cannot afford a $100 license just to vote, when they don't need it for any other reason. They too, are guaranteed the right to vote by the constitution, even if they are poor. Here is an article from an online encyclopedia about the Voting Rights Act of 1965. http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/633044/Voting-Rights-Act

People who want to pass Voter ID laws say that there is a voter fraud problem in the US, and typically mention "all the illegals voting." A recent study came out that the US had a voter fraud occurrence of less than one case per state per year (It was something like .75 cases per state per year).

People on this forum somehow think that because someone supports this for voting, that asking for ID for any reason (for safety, to gain access to a ticketed party, etc) is somehow the same and therefore hypocritical. They cannot see the obvious differences between the two situations.

DNC is a private affair, so the 'leaders' can impose whatever rules for ID they wish to impose.

These conventions are private affairs funded by public tax dollars, the taxpayers should be welcome to attend. Id optional for the DNC ofcourse.

From what I'm reading, though, it's the people applying for press credentials that are required to show their ID three times. Am I wrong, or is it everyone who wants to attend?

Why wouldn't people have to show ID for a ticketed, private event?
