I am applying for non-immigrant K3 visa in Manila, Philippines. I have already sent notification of applicant readiness letter together with DS-230 to the embassy a month ago. We already have all the required documents needed for the interview. We still haven't heard from the embassy yet. I just want to know what's the next step after submitting notification of applicant readiness. Are they going to assign an appointment date to us? Or can we set an appointment already?

We called the embassy and they told us to pay the application fee. I already set and appointment on Friday and went to St. Lukes for my medical exam this morning. They asked me for the k3 visa approval letter, but I don't have it with me. So I decided to go back home and cancel my appointment. I am just so confused.

My husband and I are just worried because we need to be in the US in Dec 2012 for our US wedding reception. We've already paid the downpayment for the reception hall. Don't want our money to go to waste.

Pls help.

You must wait for USCIS to approve your petition before you can move on to the next step.

Heya Meghan -

it's one thing to have an approved I-129F.

It's another thing for the I-129F to actually come out of NVC, headed to Manila IV unit.

K-3 administratively closed - http://www.visajourney.com/news/2010/02/07/department-of-state-to-close-k-3-visas-if-i-129f-and-i-130-petitions-approved-and-received-together/

So, make certain about the approved I-129F. You might not have what you think you have..

so , from this point, you need to get a new appointment for the interview via the Manila IV Website.

You know how to do that already -but what yer missing is the confirmation letter / appointment letter that's available to you AFTER you schedule.

So, practice getting that letter, then make yer plans for the medical. Note that the scheduling website changes all the time, as slots become available when before a day might have seemed filled/unavailable. So check often.

I think is possible to have interview mid October, easy-peasy lemon pies.
