To me, not having a mortgage on my primary residence is a quality of life issue.

We go 'round about this one too.

If your rate is right, that's a pretty cheap way to have your money tied up, leaving cash free for other wealth-building activites.

And there's that ole mortgage interest deduction. Look at the whole picture.
