Who will process mu AOS application ?

I sent my AOS application (along with AP and EAD) to the Chicago lockbox. But, as far as I know, they only do a preliminary processing, and then pass my application somewhere. The question is: where? I live close to Sacramento, CA. Will it be the CSC or the District Office in Sacramento ?

Another question - what can I expect on the way? The first milestone would be a NOA - I got all three. I also got my biometrics appointment (less than two weeks after the receipt notice date - is it soon, just in time or late?). What else can I expect and when ?

Thanks!

Bartek

Hi, I live in northern CA as well and they sent my case to Fresno, which is also where I'll have my AOS interview this next Friday. I'm guessing they'll send yours to the office closest to where you are, but I'm definitely sure it's going to be either Sacramento or Fresno. If it makes you feel better, I applied August 13 and less than 2 1/2 months later I'm almost done!

I was surprised that only one week after my biometrics I received the AOS appointment letter (September 7). The interview is scheduled to October 27. Unless you received any RFE, it seems like your case is being processed as fast as mine was. After receiving the appointment letter, there is not much you can do except wait till the big day =)

Best of luck to you!

My story:

09/23/2002 - Met Chris online, there was something very special about this guy =0)

07/16/2006 - We got married in Reno, Nevada.

USCIS:

08/13/2006 - Filed for AOS, AP, EAD - they were VERY carefully packaged with a detailed cover sheet on top of each of the forms, just as VJ's instructions recommend. It was A LOT of work, but it did pay off! (we firmly believe this is what sped up our process big time)

08/31/2006 - Biometrics appointment

09/09/2006 - Received my AOS appointment date!

10/26/2006 - EAD touched and AP APPROVED!

10/27/2006 - AOS appointment at 7:30 AM! APPROVED IN EXACTLY 70 DAYS!!!

11/01/2006 - EAD approved

11/02/2006 - Email notification - greencard will be mailed as soon as it is ready! YAY again!

11/02/2006 - Welcome to the United States of America letter in the mail! Almost there! =)

11/06/2006 - EAD card and White card (a.k.a. greencard) arrive in the mail!

Journey Total Duration: 80 days

Filed for removal of conditions on 07-28-2008 and had them removed on 09-10-2008

After biometrics you should shortly (??) recieve your EAD and then AP then next will be the appt letter for your appt for AOS interview. This at least was the scenario for us here.

you should be able to find where your AOS interview will be done on the USCIS website - once you've found it you can look for others at same place and you should get an indication of timescales to wait. (this method actually alerted us to the fact that at thetime ours was going to happen much earlier than we expected)

Good Luck

Hello Bartek,

I believe your applications go from Chicago to Missouri (MSC) ... Your EAD and AP stay at MSC for processing where your AOS application will be transfered to your district office (in your case that would be Sacramento I imagine) ....

I see that you arrived on a K-1 so there is a chance that your AOS may not be transfered to your local office and instead transfered to California Service Center (CSC) ... If you are lucky to get transfered to CSC then you will most likely get approved without an interview ...

K-1 VISA
08-05-06 - Married in Sycamore IL

AOS / EAD
08-24-06 - AOS/EAD mail to Chicago (Day 1)

11-06-06 - GC & Welcome Letter arrive in Mail (Day 75)

I-751
09-23-08 - Sent Package via USPS (Day 1)
01-02-09 - Received GC in mail (with wrong Resident Since date) (Day 101)

Hi again, I found this, it will tell you where your service center is based on your county:

Sacramento: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices...nto/aboutus.htm

Fresno: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices...sno/aboutus.htm

Hope this helps!
