Darnell, I think you misunderstand "shortcut" for trying to get around the process at the NVC. That's not what the shortcut link is promoting. It simply tells you what to anticipate and what to send when. If you aren't proactive, calling NVC to get embassy number and INN asap, you end up losing time because the email with that info often takes a week or so to receive. Also, if I and many others had not checked the payment portal each day to see when it was ready to accept the payments, if we had waited for the email telling us to make the payment, we would have lost days sometimes another week in the whole process. If I had waited to hear that I had a checklist via email instead of calling and asking if all papers had been complete and accepted again I would have lost days. I think everyone would agree even a day or two saved in every step of the process is well worth it. So, no you can't get "around" the system but you can be proactive and prepared instead of passive and lose even a day or two.. This is just given in my humble experience and the experience of those who shared the info with me and the people I have passed the link onto. Good luck to all.

Hi ! Welcome to NVC Processing !

I'm very proud of you for 'getting' it, as I wrote something verra similar to your post about 3 years ago.

It's a big deal, to 'get it'. It shows signs of 'knowledge assimilation' after reading (LingChe's NVC ShortCut on the Wiki, for example) and is a really big deal, in my book.

You Rock, and Stuff !! I'm in awe, officially.

I'm a huge fan of the shortcuts posted here at VJ, fwiw....

Go Get Em !

I wasn't suggesting to 'go around' anything, except that to 'bypass' NVC Processing, in toto, one must file for an expedite at NVC. When it's granted, NVC Document Intake and Fees Processing is stopped and the casefile is sent on to the IV Unit at the Embassy. IMO, the best time for request an expedite at NVC is when the AOS FEE BILL arrives in one's email inbox. But I digress, I think, as yer focusing solely on the LingChe NVC Shortcut here at the Wiki..

----

If one does nothing, does NOTHING listed in the LingChe Wiki or in the first two posts of a Monthly NVC thread, one flips into 'postal processing', where NVC Sends Out Stuff, usually one thing every three months. So, that's a total of 9 months on postal processing, minimum, when the LingChe NVC Shortcut is not utilised.

OK - I think you and I have expounded much on our two points - be proactive, push the system for YOUR Timing, and not NVC's Timing (ie - no Postal Processing Timelines as put forth by NVC).

Whew !

I'm convinced if I wrote 'bypass' instead of 'shortcut' it all would have been clearer ;) My bad ..

You must mistake me with someone else as I was barely a twinkle in my hubbie's eye three years ago let alone deep in this process plus we did a k1 so would never have been dealing with NVC and additional paperwork.
