Emailing DS230 Part One ?? Jamaica

Several have posted that they were able to EMAIL their DS230 Part One to the Jamaican Embassy in order to receive the interview date.

Can I email a scanned signed copy in on behalf of my Jamaican fiance? or does it have to come from him? Is it an ONLINE form connected to the embassy? We have the completed form printed out for his signature. Please advise.

Thank you so much.

You can e- mail it from your e-mail address or his, but it has to be signed with his signature on it.

The k-1 process is different, the embassy handles everything.

If you are in the K-1 process, they will receive only the DS-230 in e-mail. Other processes, they do not accept e-mailed information.

Pinkrlion - thanks for the post - your information is correct. We emailed a signed scanned copy yesterday and they emailed me today that it was received and the system would generate an interview date which would be mailed to my JA finace. They said to bring the original to the interview. He mailed it yesterday just to be sure so they will have it and we will take another signed original just in case.

I appreciate everyone's support and responses. It is a mountain to climb but sweet when we reach the top!

I am guessing the sytems should generate a date pretty quickly....maybe we will get notice in the mail in about a week???? Any feedback on that?

I filled out part 1 of the DS-230 form online, printed it off, scanned it, and emailed it to my fiancé in Jamaica. He printed it off, signed it, scanned it, and emailed it back to me. Your fiance has to sign the form. Then I sent the US Embassy in Jamaica an email with part 1 of the DS-230 form attached. They emailed me the next day saying they received it.

After 4 days of emailing the DS-230 form, call the U.S. Department of State at (202) 663-1225 to see if an interview date has been set. If they have the interview scheduled, then you can email the US Embassy in Jamaica with the interview date information and tell them that you’d like a copy of the interview letter emailed to you so that you can schedule the medical exam.

Thanks nessmj77 - yes I did exactly as you descbied for the DS230 Part One and had the same response the next day.

I so appreciate the heads up on the phone number to check on the interview date. I will try calling Friday. No hurry really, I just want to know the date so I can book my flight down to JA to start assisting with the preparation.

Doesn't the medical exam need to be "within" 10 days of the interview date? Maybe I am mistaken on that. I am sure the Packet 4 will have all the instructions. We are gathering as we go from the checklist.

I sincerely thank you for your support. Its a long road and helps to have help along the way.

The medical exam needs to be done a minimum of 10 days before the interview so that the results are available in time for the interview. You need the interview date in order to schedule the medical exam. When you call to make an appt for the medical exam, they will ask you for the interview date and schedule the medical exam accordingly. Our interview date was scheduled 4 weeks and 2 days out. They scheduled the medical exam about 2 weeks prior to the interview date. The medical exam is basically an all-day event, so be prepared to do lots of waiting that day.

Thank you SweetnessATX for initally putting up this post. The questions and answers on this thread are so to the point and have helped me understand the process with clarity. I just received my NOA2 so knowing what to expect and how to handle ahead of time is very helpful.
