ya, I hate it much, when casefiles get seperated.

John - it's best to delay processing, delay your payment and document sending, on yer wife's casefile,

until you are certain that:

1. son's casefile arrived at NVC and

2. son's casefile is joined up at NVC with the wife's casefile.

How to be certain? Use a telephone, inquire with NVC...

But of course, chase down the son's casefile at USCIS, nowish.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Follow Darnell's advice, get to a Tier2 ISO for clarification.

FWIW, back on 2009 my wife's I-130 was approved a few weeks before my stepson's and the NVC basically delayed her file until his was in their hands so they could get them mated together for Embassy processing.

thanks for relaying your experience, and I'll try to call now. What does the ISO stand for ?? Did those calls remedy getting the chids petition through then after speaking to them at USCIS ?

I was finally put through to a tier two supervisor; she said the case has been sitting there with an RFE for his birth certificate. Although they have my email address, I did receive text of our NOA1, I've never received anything at all requesting it. The case file status still says UNDER REVIEW when checking it online; and we've never received any mail either. So if I hadn't thought something was wrong....since he is 18 mons old, and to get an a Tier Two supervisor, the case would still be just sitting there. She did say I should receive a email soon, after she verified it again, and that it shouldn't take long afterwards to fix the problem.

Thanks everyone for you suggestions.
