CR-2 case number not together with CR-1

We received our NOA2 August 14, for my wife. I asked the NVC operator was there a number for her son also, and she didn't have one and couldn't tell me why/where/or when it would be forwarded or who to call. In USCIS the status still says under review as of Sept 1. They were mailed in the same packet to USCIS. Any suggestions, should I call NVC and ask for who? Is it common for NVC to not give a case number to the cr-2 immediately also? Or should a send an inquiry to USCIS to see if it was approved and forwarded on?

This is VERY, VERY common...This happens to most.

The NOA2 will be coming soon.

Mine came together and has a case number that follows each other. Perhaps this happens to others, but if it does it would seem to be the USCIS Clerk's mistake rather than a common practice. I would get in touch with them if one week passed and the other approval for the child does not come in the mail or in the USCIS web status.

I can give many examples of NOA2's that did not come together if you like

My wife's NOA2 was approved Aug 14; nothing on the son's 130 still, no approval notice or know if it has already been forwarded to NVC or not.

Yes thats what I posted here for is to hear from people that have already had experiences with this, and did they have to follow up at USCIS, or NVC, and how long the period was. One person we heard from already had the case numbers ONE DAY apart and they were together at NVC. So far we're now over two weeks apart.

One of your listed friends here on VJ (IsmoBem) also went through this...

If you want more examples....just let me know.

Hey John - for clarity, call into USCIS On Tuesday,

get an ISO, a Tier 2 human,

and inquire for casefile status .

Don't muck about with the first person that answers the phone, a CSR, A Tier 1 subhuman, they be worthless.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Out of town and just got home. I'll try to call them tomorrow and ask for them. Thanks. I can see one getting left behind and holding up our whole process. As of yesterday, it was still Under Review. Thanks.

I just called USCIS. I was "spoken to" by Peter #G680487. He read the whole page of the NOA1 form to me; he refused my request to advance my call to a tier two supervisor, and stated if I wanted to request case status, I'd need to write a hand written notice and mail it to them. He stated the average processing time for this type case is 5 months. (Big surprise)....and that also, each case is individually processed. He finally allowed me to explain my wife was already approved and at NVC; and that it was for CR-2. He said the cases were separated in USCIS. (maybe to be more efficient?). I told him I was pretty sure if they questioned my step son, he wouldn't be able to answer them, since he is just learning to speak, doesn't have a cell phone or email address, and won't be able to book his own flight.

Does it make you feel better to put yourself up on a pedestal?

ah? sorry, Tier 1's are subhumans, as they CANNOT HELP with most matters at USCIS.

To be certain, a human with GOD ACCESS on that computer, an ISO, Tier 2 human, is the only one that has this other info.

It sucks one has to bully one's way through a CSR, on these types of matters, to actually get an ISO.

as for me - wow - that's such a label you'd like to throw, aye? No need for that.

If you'd like to compare yerownself , between a CSR and an ISO - I invite you so do to -

see ISO - http://www.dhs.gov/files/publications/gc_1305658440339.shtm

Follow Darnell's advice, get to a Tier2 ISO for clarification.

FWIW, back on 2009 my wife's I-130 was approved a few weeks before my stepson's and the NVC basically delayed her file until his was in their hands so they could get them mated together for Embassy processing.
