Well, when I got transfered to CSC, I was worried we'd wasted that EAD application fee, as so many people told us we had.

Now, almost a month after the last touch on his AOS app, we just got notification that the EAD was approved!

Money well spent after all, I think.

Congratulations ... With my delay with the RFE for my AOS I am also glad that I applied for EAD ... Right now I just want one of them to be approved ... It doesn't matter which to me :)

Good for you! I still feel that I wasted both the AP and the EAD fees, since I'll have my AOS interview this Friday, and the two docs haven't been aproved yet. I'll be ironic, in a sad way, if I receive the GC before they ever process my AP and EAD...oh well!

09/23/2002 - Met Chris online, there was something very special about this guy =0)

07/16/2006 - We got married in Reno, Nevada.

USCIS:

08/13/2006 - Filed for AOS, AP, EAD - they were VERY carefully packaged with a detailed cover sheet on top of each of the forms, just as VJ's instructions recommend. It was A LOT of work, but it did pay off! (we firmly believe this is what sped up our process big time)

08/31/2006 - Biometrics appointment

09/09/2006 - Received my AOS appointment date!

10/26/2006 - EAD touched and AP APPROVED!

10/27/2006 - AOS appointment at 7:30 AM! APPROVED IN EXACTLY 70 DAYS!!!

11/01/2006 - EAD approved

11/02/2006 - Email notification - greencard will be mailed as soon as it is ready! YAY again!

11/02/2006 - Welcome to the United States of America letter in the mail! Almost there! =)

11/06/2006 - EAD card and White card (a.k.a. greencard) arrive in the mail!

Journey Total Duration: 80 days

Filed for removal of conditions on 07-28-2008 and had them removed on 09-10-2008

Congrats on your approval, but let's hope you get the card promptly. Do you already have a job lined up? I'm glad I didn't waste money on EAD or AP, because this whole process has cost enough money, and I didn't want to give them a penny more than I had to. :yes:

But what if you were to end up in the FBI name check delay ... There are people who have been waiting for over a year for their approval even after their interview ....

With this whole process you never know what can happen ... I currently have a job lined up and my future boss has been very patient and waiting for my work authorization or green card to come in (which ever comes first) ... The way I look at it I can work one day at my new job and that would pay for my EAD fee ...

EAD is defined as an interim benefit and was developed by USCIS to permit legal employment until permanent residency is established.

With the GC, you don't need either an EAD or AP to work or leave the country. Just a SSN to work. The GC is the key to the front door! :lol:;)
