Crazy, that's the word for it, seems like all of us are on the same boat... Same messages on the uscis website, no paperwork on time... but yes, this website is truly comforting... I love it!

So for Thanksgiving I'm thankful to have found all of you!

On the other hand, back to the same subject... I got my infopass appointment for Monday just in case but... Actually for my surprise when I had my AOs interview and my case was approved, the lady gave me their office phone number, it's a "leave message" number but they did call me back!!!!! They did not want to leave a message in the answering machine so they say they will call me again later... nice uh!!!!!!!!!!! It's awesome not to have to call the 1800 number... I love the immigration office here in Montana (Helena), they are very very helpfull, even when the times are the same for every office from what I have seen, here in Montana they are not as busy and they always have someone come talk to you and help!!! which is awesome.

I hope they call me back soon and I dont have to drive there (3 hours drive, not bad)... but even if i do, it will be for my own sake. I have to travel to my home country on Dec 1st, and at the interview when my case was approved they took my AP!!!... no green card, no AP, no employment card... yikes! They will help me out I'm sure, it just sucks to have to deal with this.

Well, hope you all are doing well. Patience is the name of the game, and dont worry too much, cheer up!

Hi, I got a stamp in my passport after approval. It expired 11/18/2006 so we went to the infopass appointment and got another one that is valid for 2 months just because they couldn't find my biometric info in their system any my green card has not been processed. But it seems you are getting your green card soon. Hope everything works out well with you and everyone here on the same boat :)

Hi all

well I went for my Infopass this morning (early!). The lady officer was very nice. She looked it up and said the officer that interviewed us has recommended approval (he didnt tell us this at interview time though!) and the case is now waiting to be reviewed by another officer. She did not know how long that would take. She told me my name checks etc were back and clear. I'm pretty relieved that we're sort-of approved. I would recommend an Infopass for anyone who wants the above type of information, presumably they give this out at all branches of USCIS, I dont know. As far as timelines though, they could not tell me.

From what I've learned about this process (via my experience with my husband's incomplete namecheck) I think what's happening with most of you in this thread could best be called 'pipeline clog'.

Our adjudicator tells me that once the local office knows all issues are resolved, it's up to them to order the card. Apparently the interviewing officer has to have their supervisor sign off. Then someone actually orders the card and the process of producing it and getting it in your hands begins.

It's been my observation that in very busy backlogged offices, a file sometimes gets 'lost'. It's in a cupboard somewhere awaiting a signature. This is where Infopass is invaluable as it can force them to look for the file. If you never inquire, your file just ends up further down in the stack. Phoning the misinformation line is unlikely to do any good - you need to Infopass.

That's really strange. I wonder what the huge hold up is. Your file sitting in limbo somewhere?

rebeccajo: At this point I think you're right. Writing a letter to my DO did f*** all. Calling information hotline did the same. I'm going to enjoy my thanksgiving break and the drive down to Philly next week I think.

this sounds about right Rebeccajo...get this...we have had two emails from the local office in two days..the first ones says * I am not finding an approval in the system. the file has been sent back to the NRC. I will have to request it back in order to find out what happened with the application*

the second one says *In regards to the status of this case, we just received the case recently. The application has been approved. It is currently assigned to a Supervisor for an update. If you do not receive a notice of action from us in 60 days, please make another inquiry  Oh well now I know what happened..NOT :no: No accountability..that is the problem. These emails were forwarded to us via our lawyer, thankfully he is really working for us to get is solved, so we still wait......

Yep, it is official that they have lost my biometric. I received a letter stating that I need to show up for a biometric appointment in 2 weeks For the third time...stupid immigration. Hope I don't have to wait long hours to get them done AGAIN! How stupid are they to lose it? I still can't belive this :(

Hi Tommy,

Yes. They are definately not good at taking care of official documents and I really wonder what is the requirements to get hired by USCIS. They should be more trained to be able to take care of things more professionally. I read someone wrote about losing biometric paper. They found out that their biometric was lost on the phone and made an infopass. Then. they found out USCIS actually had it...lol.....

Does your letter say the prints are lost?

I've read cases here where sometimes they have difficulty obtaining a clear print.

Nope, it doesn't say anything about losing my biometric...it is just the same as the letter I got for the first time.

Were you told the first time that the prints were lost? I wouldn't assume that they were unless told so. It's more likely the prints are unreadable or they are trying to clear a near-match.
