Strange...I got a touch yesterday and here is my status in the system...just wanted to share with you guys. I will find out what's going on Monday when I go to the infopass appointment at my district office. And of course no green card yet :(

Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On August 9, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

I haven't got a touch but I noticed that they changed the wording of the standard message on when I click on my online status. It now says:

On June 27, 2006, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

It didn't say the thing about the Missouri Service Center before IIRC. Of course this is very misleading because the MSC don't have processing times for I-485.

Hi guys,

the wording of my status changed too, just like yours. Sounds like an automated thing and nothing to do with our cases being moved along....processing dates at the Baltimore office havent changed since oct 12 either whih is weird. I dont think we can complain until our NOA1 dates are before the dates stated on that webpage... but I might try an infopass anyway, just for laffs...

Infopass would be lovely, but it involves 7 hour round trip drive for me and a day off work I can't take. I wrote a letter to my DO requesting a status update, but it was ignored (i.e. they didn't reply), which was nice especially considering I wrote in my letter that I was expecting their reply. If only USCIS were made to follow standard practices of customer service, we did all pay small fortune for this service after all.

Hi all,

I got the exact same sentence added to their REF reply which has been shown since May 2006. I have no idea what this is all about. Why my case is at missouri service center?? I live in California. Are they out of mind since it is right before thanks giving and Christmas?

So I went to the infopass appointment today. After an hour waiting (possibly more! why the heck do we always have to wait in line where ever we go in the status?!), we told the officer that we haven't received our green card yet. Then she looked into my case and after another hour of waiting, she told me that my birometric might have been lost because she couldn't find it in their system. So that is why my green card is not in process because to issue a green card, they need to match the approval and birometric...So as I expected, something was wrong with my green card prcessing...She gave me a stamp that is valid for the next 60 days and I should be hearing from them soon after they find out what happened to my birometric. I may have to go to the application center to get them done for the third time!!! Anyway, that's what I found out today...hope you guys will hear from them pretty soon.

Interesting. I'm pretty sure I heard a similar story before. I'm thinking I'll be going on an Infopass trip myself soon.

Yes, even though it takes 7 hours for you to drive up there, an infopass seems worth it. Good luck, maybe the same thing happened to your case.
