I bet you get a letter telling you to take a number, sit down and shut up.

I'm expecting that, yes. Still the touch does make me somewhat comforted that I haven't been completely forgotten about. After all I'm not pending name check or anything so there really isn't a good reason why I should still be waiting for any confirmation of my approval.

Hi Dr. Lha! my case was touched too!!! Yesterday!! November 11.. I'm hoping that's a good sign for us!! Take care! Keep on updating us...

Actually a thought occurred to me, I remember reading somewhere that when a case is pending USCIS checks it every month. Nov 11th would represent exactly 1 month after my interview, so perhaps that date is not related to the letter I wrote them.

I am in the same situation as you...My case is not pending and I can't see why we have to wait so long to get a green card... :( so I made an infopass early next week!

OK. Let us know how that goes. I'm guessing I should get a reply from the letter I wrote USCIS in Philly soon, hopefully.

Hi dr

I have not written to USCIS yet since I wanted to ask my new lawyer at first. Anyway, I will let you know after the appointment with the lawyer today regarding AOS pending case.

Over the 5 week mark now. No reply from USCIS to my letter of enquiry. Just phoned the misinformation hotline, and after 35 mins on hold (thank goodness I have a speakerphone), I was told they can't do anything until 3 months after the interview.

If that's the case then why, pray tell, do they have the following on their website that you should call them if:

It has been more than 30 days since you became a permanent resident, and you have not received your welcome notice.

Well it has been 35 days suckas, and yet you still fobbed me off with some excuse!

Sorry, it feels good to vent. I realise people go through this for years, and I have no reason to be mad yet. ;)

This is exactly what happened to me.... I ended up making an infopass appointment and found out that my Greencard was mailed 5 days after my interview.... I never recieved it... they said it was lost in the mail... had to file I-90 twice... 1st time without fee as per the instruction if you did not recieve the card and 2nd time because they said I had to pay the fee as it was not there fault it was lost in the mail... 5 months after filing the 2nd time I finally got my Greencard....

Did you receive any emails or online updates to indicate that your Greencard was sent? The most I've had is a touch on my I-485 case on Saturday. I'm kind of expecting that I should get some emails from USCIS when they send the greencard, as they did for my EAD, but I guess their system is not fool proof.

I totally understand how you feel!!! And I know there are people waiting for years and I can't be upset about not receiving a green card soon enough but it seems like all I think about is this! I shouldn't be wasting my time thinking about this whole thing all the time but I can't help it!!! Let's try to hang on...our case have been approved (if they didn't screw up) and that's a good thing :)

Anyway I will visit my local office on Monday, so I will let you know how it goes...it is just strange that my online case hasn't been updated since October 22... (my interview date was October 19)

After 3 months? that sucks...then why the hell the web site says if you don't receive your welcome letter 30 days after the interview, call us...??? Dosen't make sence...Hope you will receive a letter for your inquiry soon...

My on-line status has never changed since I had my biometrics done in august 2005.... it is still the same now... I never recieved any emails about greencard or welcome letters... the only thing I did recieve was the approval for the I-130 and that was in July 2006 and that was dated Nov 9th 2005...

We are in a similar situation. The last touch shown online was 4 days BEFORE our interview. When I asked USCIS whether this seemed strange, the Boston office said that they do not update status online. This might be the policy at other field offices as well, so thought I'd share.

Hi Cathy!!!!

Yeah our interview was the 17th. We waited for what seemed like hours, but turned out to be only 1 hour. We looked to be one of the few without a lawyer. Eventually we got called back by a fellow who seemed a bit grumpy. My husband thinks he must have had a cold, but to me he seemed just fed up with his job...

He asked a few Qs about how we met, how long we'd been dating before we married. Then he asked us for our evidence of relationship and I handed tonnes of docs over which he took and stuck in the file. I asked if he wanted to see our photos; he said "yeah okay" and flipped though them.

He didnt take the I-94 and he wouldnt say if we were approved or not. It had to go to another officer for them to have a look. He said "you'll get an answer in the mail, but I would get an Advance Parole if you decide to travel any time soon" which made me think it might be a while. He didn't say anything about name checks. No hope of getting a stamp....

it was pretty much an anti-climax. I have my EAD, so I'm not too worried for now, but I'm thinking about making an Infopass, as I work down the street from the USCis office, so it wouldnt be too much hassle. That way, maaaaybe I can get the file from under the big pile on someones desk...!

Cheers

Lucy

Oh gosh! We pretty much have the same interview experience (did not take the I-94, no stamps, no clue if approved or not!) except that on my interview day, my hubby wasn't with me because he's in Iraq on his first tour of duty... The guy who interviewed us was kind of grumpy too but he wasn't rude or anything.. He just wasn't too friendly I'd say.. He didn't mention anything about name checks as well. I asked him if my papers were ok. All he had to say was "these are all good & i will give this to my supervisor for her pending approval.. & just wait for the results in the mail..." It's so unfair, not knowing where we stand right now. If they could just give us some sort of explanation then we would have peace of mind right?? I mean, there's no problem with waiting, I've been through that eversince we filed for K3 visa so I do understand that these things take time.. I just want to know the reason behind it & then I can shut up.. hahaha...
