Just to update people on this, just in case you're interested (which I'm sure you're not but it feels good to vent anyway):

Tomorrow is the 4 week anniversary of my "successful" AOS interview and still nothing in the mail or online. Today I start the first prong of my assault, which is to write a letter to USCIS requesting my case status. I'm doing this because an Infopass means taking a day off and driving for 7 hours. Wish me luck.

Yes, I think that would be a good idea to write them. My interview was last Ausgust and no word from them. So I wrote them a letter in the mail for follow-up and they did reply, that my case is still being process. They sent me an email too. At least they responded.

Good luck

Don't worry, you are not the only one. I have been waiting since Aug 2006 after sucess interview and still don't know why AOS pending. I will be happy if could know the reason for the pending at least. Are you going to wirte to the address where you had your AOS interview?

HI DR LHA!

Me too! It's been 3 weeks already & no news from them yet... Do you think I should write them too or just wait a lil bit longer??

Me too! It's been almost 3 weeks since the successful interview. They told me that I would get a card within 2 or 3 weeks but the case online hasn't been updated and the status is still pending even though my FBI name check has been cleared and the case was approved at the interview... I made a call at 800 number but the lady wasn't really helpful. She just told me that it takes 6 weeks until they issue a green card...Useless isn't it?!

Infopass : 11/20/06 - They couldn't find my biometric record in their system

Biometrics Appointment : 12/08/06 - Hopefully they will start my green card production!

It seems like they "touched?" October 22nd and my interview was October 19th. It says something like they received the requested docoments on August 9th and they will let me know when the case is approve or something like that even though my case was approved at the interview. Very confusing... My online case status had never been in the system until my interview date but I can at least look up now :) I will wait until next week and ask my lawyer how we can find out what's going on. I will keep you posted. Have you been touched after the interview?

Belloadona--->

When you wrote them, did you put your spouse name ? I mean the letter from you looked like from both of you or just you? I will write them too since it already past 3 months. It is very frustrating to waite without knowing the reason. Also I will have to renew EAD soon just in case..

Its good to know there are others in the same boat, thanks guys.

Its really frustrating, but I guess we'll see how the letter goes. I give even odds on a reply stating nothing useful, but there you go!

BTW - I didn't mention my wife's name. I just gave them all the information in the letter that they asked for on the USCIS webpage.

My case has been touched twice after the interview... I did give USCIS a call just today & they told me that my case is still outside the processing time. And that it could take 6 months to get results coz they are currently processing 1485's filed last January 2006 .. Basic answers. Nothing specific.. She said that I could still be under FBI pending name check.. Oh dear!

Standard reply from the mis-information hotline, which should not be taken to mean anything. All this ####### about being "outside the processing time" is just a way to deflect your calls. The fact is that most people get their green cards/approval notices/touches whatever within 2 weeks of their interview, they don't have to wait for the processing time to come up.

Hi Tommy,

I think the sentence you read on line is about REF. USCIS asked you to send more documents before and you or your lawyer sent the document back to them. That is the reply from USCIS. I guess that was about birth certificate since we don't have a birth certificate in Japan. I have the same words and it has not been updated for a long time. They said it will be updated when you receive any respond from USCIS regarding your I-485.

Uh huh! Standard & basic replies from USCIS.. My interview three weeks ago was really a blur. There was no indication if I was approved or not... The immigration officer just told me to wait for the results in the mail. My passport wasn't stamped. They did not take my I-94 either... I just need some kind of explanation.... Waiting is not the issue here as long as they could give me a valid reason why my case is pending.. That way I won't be as restless as I am now...Is it too early for Infopass??
