Chrissy,

"need" to get your passport changed or 'want' to get your passport changed?

What baby? If the visit is only 2 weeks you should still be pregnant on your return.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but if there's absolutely no time to do that last name change on the passport, can you just bring your marriage certificate along with your passport to show proof of legal last name change?

Correct many just book the air-line ticket in the maiden name, and travel using the passport in maiden name, just need the green-card to get back into the states. A copy of marriage cert is not really necessary since the green-card is a photo ID.

YuAndDan,

Good in theory, but as a practical matter a copy of the marriage certificate is really necessary if the airline personnel say it is really necessary. They control access to the aircraft.

My wife had this experience at airport check-in when we visited her country with her brand new Green Card earlier this year. The card shows her full name, middle name which is her maiden name matching her passport. I thought briefly about debating the point, but quickly decided that it would be more prudent to produce the marriage certificate than risk being declared an unruly passenger while in a foreign country.
