Not sure exactly what's taking so long. Probably people going on vacation.

The closest I've gotten so far is two emails from the embassy and the NVC respectively.

From the embassy (August 29):

Dear Sir,

We have been experiencing a huge backlog, however, we will be able to cut into it within a month time.

We have not yet received your file and unable to assist you before we it has been received.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Unit

From the NVC (September 4):

The NVC completed its processing of Mr. Borkström's visa petition.

The petition is waiting for an appointment to be scheduled at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN. When an interview appointment is scheduled, the petitioner, principal applicant, designated agent, and attorney of record (if applicable) will be notified.

Do you know what is the hold up? You should've your interview back in August.

Not necessarily.....for one thing they probably missed the cut off for July scheduling.

So that would put them in August scheduling for September.....but if Sept. became full...

Then they must stay at NVC and wait for September scheduling for "Oktober"

Posted

Absolutely, of course.

Just ask the representative if your petition is still at NVC.

They will tell you without hesitation.

Thanks for this. Just gave the NVC a call, petition is still there, and no news on an interview date although it's "in line". Hoping for an early October interview!

Yep. no problem.

We have a very busy consulate....so I will be happy to get anytime in October....but preparing to get passed over.

Hubby and I just got off the phone with NVC and I asked them wen they will start scheduling, the first week is almost gone and no interview date yet....... We told the operator that we understand they schedule every second week of each month and she said that's not true that they schedule everyday.....

So if that's the issue then why are we still waiting for a date

They should be consistent with their information arrrrgggghhhhhh helpsmilie.gifhelpsmilie.gif

Yeah...I think I mentioned that somewhere here in this thread before.

If they are scheduling everday then why are they not giving us any interview date...???

The mystery continues...

Maybe they make the announcements the 2nd week of the month......I don't know :crying:
