Hi All,

My wife's I-130 was approved from USCIS and is now under review at NVC. I know I will have to submit several originals including our marriage certificate, the divorce decree of her previous marriage, her birth certificate, etc for NVC processing. But does anyone know if I as the sponsor will have to submit my birth certificate?

I was born in Pakistan in 1969 and a birth certificate was not issued back then. My parents migrated to the US in 1981 and had affidavits made to prove their marriage and birth of all four children (including me). They didn't have problems with immigration as we all became US citizens in 1989 and I did submit a copy of my naturalization certificate to USCIS when submitting the I-130 for my wife. And the Naturalization Certificate and my US Passport have the correct date and place of my birth..

So does the NVC need my original birth certificate or can I use the same AFFIDAVITs submitted 30 years ago for my parents immigration processing?

Would appreciate any guidance from others sponsoring spouse...

No the petitioner does not have to send birth certificate, U already established ur citizenship when u filed the I-130 petition.

Only original documents required are:

marriage certificate

birth certificate of beneficiary

divorce decree
