Wondering if I should call and find out where my card is.

I was approved on April 8th, received the letter on April 11, and I still haven't gotten my new GC in the mail.

60 days from approval - June 7th

60 days from letter received - June 10th

I'm going to leave it til the end of the week and if I still don't get it by Monday, I think I'll call and see what's up.

Alrighty, called USCIS:

- first person said "it's under initial review". derp. Asked if I wanted it "elevated to someone who would see and know more", I said sure.

- On hold for an hour. Had it on speakerphone and worked.

- Lady who answered verified me/who I was. Then told me as I had an extension letter for a year, I didn't have to "worry". Told me to look out for something-anything-until September. Told me if I did NOT get anything 2 weeks before my year of waiting, to make an Infopass appointment for an extension.

So-useless. But there you go-a try was made! Silly as it may sound, I'm hoping the call magically kickstarts/triggers something in their system to get some movement on this... lol.

I called USCIS more than 3 times last week and everytime I called I was connected to different "Level 2" representatives. (I waited more than an hour to talk to them ) "Level 1" representatives usually cannot help you with any issue other than status check that we could find on the USCIS website, so they usually transferred me to "Level 2" representatives.

Here is my story with 3 different "Level 2" representatives.

1st "Level 2" representative confirmed that my case was approved and told me to just wait until the end of June. Also, he said the USCIS case status feature is not usually reliable, so he advised me that I should ignore it.

2nd "Level 2" representative told me that my case was not approved (I was surprised), so I told her that I have the approval letter on my hand. Then, she asked me if the letter is "REAL" or not so I said it seems real because it has a watermark on it. Later on, she told me to wait until DECEMBER. (At that moment, I didn't see the point of talking to her anymore, so I politely hung up the phone)

3rd "Level 2" representative told me that my case was approved. However, he told me that USCIS has not mailed the decision yet, so I told him that I have the approval letter. He apologized and then he filed a service request. Also, he told me to call back if I haven't heard within 15 days. (Let's see how it goes!)

I realized that each representative could help you in a different way. (Some representatives are just not helpful at all ) So, I recommend you to call them again.

Jason-I'm sorry I had missed your original post-! Thank you thank you for outlining that whole gongshow for me--it is incredibly helpful! I definitely will call again.

My thing is this--I have zero movement and/or letter... I had found myself feeling a bit awkward when the level 2 lady said "you got your extension letter, right?" -Me: "Yeah". "Then wait" was what she said. Riiight. So I was left kind of hanging there feeling silly... heh.

Any advice from folks who haven't had nary a thing show up in the mail and called? I'll have to toughen myself up a bit more for my next call

M613, I am one of those who used an attorney from the beginning (silly me? ;-) and ended up almost last for everything apparently. I was advised that we can't do anything at this point but wait. wait and wait and wait.

The attorney said they would act on it when we got to that point that inquiries would be accepted, ie. I think only a few weeks from the extension expiry mark?

Anyone else know?

FINALLY received approval notice...I'm updating my timeline and reminding everyone to do the same. Thinking about how important this info has been for all of us. Hope I'm doing it accurately as below....
