I was in the job training and the manager kicked me out from the training center. The manager said if I get a new greencard by this Friday, she could put me back in the training. I explained her that I got an extension for a year and I even showed her the letters (both approval and extension letter). Also, I was aware of the I-551 stamp, so I mentioned about that too. However, she said she will only accept a NEW greencard. (While she was talking, she was circling the expiration date (December 3, 2012) on a photocopy of my expired greencard.)

If they refuse you a job based on this (ahem, stupidity!), I'd ask them to put it in writing and then march to a nearest employment attorney office and sue the ####### out of them!

I had a surprise text today from USCIS today that my case status updated. Website says, my card has been ordered for production, to allow 30 days to be mailed.

So this is the USCIS actual approval?! The plain paper mail I got earlier with the approval, was from USCIS office Chicago and has no value?!

has anyone tried the e-request to follow up case? its been month now since my approval and havent receive my card yet.... im a lil' bit worried coz im leaving on june 23 for 1month vacay in my country. I know I can use my extension letter n expired GC but still Im hoping to get my card before I leave.

Taking the cue from Newlywed2010 who I think did a service request and has been successful (and I have forgotten who else prompted me, sorry) I called customer service and filed a service request. She took down the info and told me to call back if we haven't heard within 15 days.

My decision date is 4/11/2013 and we are coming up on 60 days. Will keep the group posted.

The Homeland Security Officer swiped my wife's expired green card, checked it and asked for the extension letter. He had a look and gave it back (along with the expired green card, of course) and we headed to customs. I will update another thread on visajourney where I was asking questions about it).

Did you have to speak to a level 2 representative before they put in the request, or did the first level rep do it? We called once, and according to the level one rep, our case was still at the "acceptance stage". After being transferred to a level 2 rep, waiting 45 mins on hold, we were told that the case has been approved, but we need to keep waiting for card production.

I called USCIS more than 3 times last week and everytime I called I was connected to different "Level 2" representatives. (I waited more than an hour to talk to them ) "Level 1" representatives usually cannot help you with any issue other than status check that we could find on the USCIS website, so they usually transferred me to "Level 2" representatives.

Here is my story with 3 different "Level 2" representatives.

1st "Level 2" representative confirmed that my case was approved and told me to just wait until the end of June. Also, he said the USCIS case status feature is not usually reliable, so he advised me that I should ignore it.

2nd "Level 2" representative told me that my case was not approved (I was surprised), so I told her that I have the approval letter on my hand. Then, she asked me if the letter is "REAL" or not so I said it seems real because it has a watermark on it. Later on, she told me to wait until DECEMBER. (At that moment, I didn't see the point of talking to her anymore, so I politely hung up the phone)

3rd "Level 2" representative told me that my case was approved. However, he told me that USCIS has not mailed the decision yet, so I told him that I have the approval letter. He apologized and then he filed a service request. Also, he told me to call back if I haven't heard within 15 days. (Let's see how it goes!)

I realized that each representative could help you in a different way. (Some representatives are just not helpful at all ) So, I recommend you to call them again.

My case has not been touched since 21st September. Do you think it is worth my time calling USCIS and speaking to a level 2 rep? I want to plan a little vacation back to the UK but don't want to go when I am still at this stage as I am a divorce waiver and more than likely will get a RFE.

Also, from what I am reading people are being approved however they are not being updated on their website.......their is hope for me then if i call them, correct?

I hope so too. In fact, I talked to the 3rd representative last Friday and I haven't heard anything back yet..no text message, no email, and no status change. I know I have to wait 15 days, but I am losing my patience
