I 751 September 2012 Filers

I guess so. Though why it should take 60 days to print and mail a card defies logic, and August CSC filers seemed to get theirs pretty quickly.

Will be so glad to be done with these people already.

I had asked the same question a while ago. Given that we are travelling in less than two weeks (May 13 to be precise) we are anxious. I am not overtly worried about travel because we have the expired green card and the extension letter, plus the approval. But it would be very reassuring to have the actual green card. I am still keeping my fingers crossed.

It has taken vermont filers an average of 7 days to get their physical green cards. Of the CSC, only one got his or hers, "wedeka" approved 4/1, received 4/6.

I would VERY much want to know the answer to this question - The status on uscis.gov hasn't changed, I didn't get any e-mails or texts (even though I am registered) but we *did* get the paper approval.

Maybe I should call them - but since the 60 days aren't up they are just going to ask me to wait. Also on the uscis.gov site, its says 30 day wait, not 60.

Good luck all, Desperately waiting, KP

Sorry to hear about this.

Question: When you say you gave them bank account info, are these joint accounts with co-mingled assets? Can you document that after you got married, you made your accounts joint and show that this has continued? That would have more weight, also insurance policies with each other as beneficiaries. They want to see you act as one from the time that you are married, they don't care about time prior (that's important to get the visa).

Good luck, KP

Yes, we have always had joint bank accounts. The bank info I gave them included the statement when we opened a car loan with this account. We have two bank accounts: one from when we first got married and one that we opened a year and a half later due to finding a better bank which we financed a car through. I sent statements from both accounts.

From the tone of the letter it really seems like all they want from me is more bank account statements, but I'm scared that won't be enough. Also, about a month after I sent the package, we financed a new car through our bank. Is that something else I should send or will they not care as it was after the original submission?

Thanks!

I know this can be very frustrating (believe me, I know) but as long as your marriage is a bonafide one, it will come through--unfortunately the burden is on your end to prove it with documentation. I wouldn't worry about before and after submission; I mean you had no idea you were going to get an RFE before you bought the car, right? I mean, you just went about your lives as a couple. So its actually in your favor. Buying a car, as long as ownership and debt is joint is co-mingly (granted its not the same as co-mingling a hefty mutual fund together) but its in the right direction. I would also not worry about documents not going to be enough. I would take my time, see what others are saying in other portals too, assemble everything that you have, address the RFE straight on with a cover letter explaining the documents if it is not obvious: send them everything that binds you together financially, 2 years of bank statements is overkill, but maybe six months? How about insurance that you have through your company--can you make sure that you have each other as beneficiaries?
Good luck and keep the faith.

I had the same issue in the first year of my marriage. However, it didnt effect us. My wife changed her name next later...Wife can change her name whenever she want to. It depends on her. One person that I met, wife didnt even change her name at all for 5 years of the marriage and she got approved from USCIS.

11/22/12 = Filed I-751 to remove conditions

11/30/12 = Got NOA1 (I-797C)

12/23/12 = Got the bio-metrics done (USCIS Status: Pending)

Waiting...

What is her actual name after getting married? I don't think she can just choose what name to use

2 joint bank account statements from 2 different banks, two months each.

One sworn affidavit from my co-worker and neighbor.

Cheers,

Things for me were a lot different. I arrived in the USA Febuary 15th, Married March 29th and seperated October the same year, divorce took till about June 2012 to complete.

The major problem I think I am faced with is that we were living with the in-laws (they are the reason we got divorced) so we have no lease agreement, no life insurance etc......

The docs I submitted were: Joint bank statements, joint tax returns, car insurance, cell phone bill, birth certificate of our daughter, written statment from her saying the marraige was legit but just failed, photos, lots of skype messages etc when I was back in the UK waiting for the I129f,
