I wanted to schedule an InfoPass to try to solve this biometrics letter issue (never received one), but the only option is "if you contacted the NSCS 45 days before and nothing happened", and they tell you to bring the service request receipt number with you. I placed a service request about 2 weeks ago, but I don't want to wait another month before scheduling an InfoPass. Any ideas how I could do? Do you think I can just schedule it anyway? Thanks.

I would recommend to get info pass appointment as early as you can and resolve it.

Even though, you have service request with them, at the appt they can tell you "your boi appt is at ...date and we have mailed you letter", that is ok.

You can even ask them to print you a copy of letter.

If you did not receive letter in the mail, then, you got to have your address checked-out.

Thank you. I will do exactly that. I also wrote an email to my Congressman. My address should be fine because we never moved since I became an LPR and because I already received my NOA, so they have the correct one on record.

This morning i went to my scheduled biometrics appointment and everything went fine, in less then 20 min.

I talked to the Immigration officer, he was very nice, and asked for my passport to be stamped but he refuses and explained that they no longer stamp it as you only need Greencard+NOA to re-enter the US.

Not having received my biometrics appointment letter yet, despite the service request which I placed two weeks ago, I contacted my Congressman. Today his office called me and informed me that as soon as they hear back from the USCIS they will call me again. I will keep you posted.

When I got here in CA, I received a 5-year DL by showing to the DMV my passport and my EAD, and it won't expire until 2015. It didn't make much sense to me that they would not tie it to the validity of my papers, but who am I to challenge the DMV? Did you receive a license valid for a shorter period of time?

I had that issue also in AZ. What I found out was this......

My 2 year conditional GC expired 09/20/2012, I did not file my ROC till the 19th of Sept (Yes, i'm a male and leave things to the last minute lol), anyway, overnight ed it to them and went down 4 days after my license expired (The same day as my GC). They first told me that I have to wait till I get my new GC after telling them that this could take 6+ months they said tough, that is their rules. So, I went back to my shop and called the main office in Phoenix, they advised me that because I filed in time I can call the supervisor at the MDV in my town and ask them to do a check with my A# to see that I am still in status....after telling the Sup this they told me to come down and they will see what they can do. Went down there and they just signed the form (didn't do a check on me) and got my DL renewed for another year........

BIOMETRICS DONE!!!!

Shame that I have to drive nearly a 400 mile round trip for a 10 minute appointment. My scheduled apt was at 3pm today in Las Vegas, arrived there at about 1pm and asked if I can come in early, security said no and to come back about 2.30. Turned up at 2.15 and they let me in, only 2 other people in front of me and was done and out the door by 2.40pm.

They WOULD NOT stamp my passport or anything and said that to have that done I would need to schedule a infopass appointment if I wanted it done however my GC and NOA was good enough if I should ever be asked to prove my validity.
