Hey M! Happy Turkey day!

So.. Did an early walk in today at Dallas Westmoreland location. Arrived about 1:15pm, place was just about empty. I was out by 1:30pm. Easy peasy. A whole truckload of people filled the place on my way out... So seems I arrived just in time!

I still haven't received my biometrics appointment letter after 30 days since I sent my ROC package. Last time I called the 1-800 number I was basically told to wait. In 9 days I would have to travel abroad for work for about 10 days, but I can't even book my flight until I know when my appointment will be scheduled. If I had the letter, I could at least try a walk-in or reschedule, if the date was conflicting with my calendar. But without the letter I am stuck. What should I do at this point?

Well you can call and speak to a live person at the 800#, and put in a 'service request'. A letter will then come in the mail for you within the next 15 business days with your biometrics appt. date and time. (The reference number on that letter can be used to check and monitor your case progress on their website). It's too bad that you have to travel within 9 days. Any chance you can postpone until after you've received your letter? I would call the 800# immediately to get them to hopefully start working on it today.

Quick update: I placed a service request tonight. Let's see how long it takes to get this resolved.

25th Oct: Bio Appt.

So I recieved my biometrics paper today and I was reading online that some people don't wait until the appointment they have but they go like 10 or 15 days earlier. Just show up. And they do their biometrics. Is that safe to do? Can I do that to or should I just stick with my appointment that I have? Will walk in fasten your application a little bit? How do you know if the office you are assigned to can do walk ins or not? I live in louisville ky by the way

We tried to do a walk-in biometrics at the Naperville, IL ASC for our AOS, and they did NOT let us do it. So, if you would have to go to Naperville, I suggest don't waste your time and just wait for your appointment. I don't know if doing an early bio really speeds up the process that much, if at all.

My card does not expire until December, my travel would be overseas for about 10 days, I already received the NOA, so no worries about that. I'm just concerned about missing the biometrics appointment.

Hay gaiz!

My husband had his biometrics taken today. Everything went smoother than expected. Last time, for the AOS, we had to do a walk in and arrived shortly before 2pm. When we left just after 2 (these things never take too long do they?) the room was packed wall-to-wall! So this time we decided to arrive early at 1:30 to make sure we'd been seen first, even if we had to wait a bit, because my husband had work. Didn't really wait at all, mostly just for security. We were out by 1:45! Eeeeasy. All she wanted was his appointment letter and we needed our IDs to get inside.

Yay! Assuming we don't get an RFE (KNOCK ON WOOD) we're practically done. w00t.
