Glory, Glory Hallelujah! I got my NOA, date September 11, 2012. Please update the list.

On a side note, the NOA says that "if you have not done so, provide supporting documents to assist USCIS in processing your petition and to establish eligibility to remove the conditional basis of your permanent residence", and then it lists the following items: Lease of joint tenancy or joint ownership of assets, joint mortgage agreement and/or property deed; tax returns, birth certificate(s) of any child(ren) born from marriage; joint policies of life, medical and/or car insurance.

I assume that this is standard language, since we submitted plenty of evidence including some of the above items. Do your NOAs read the same?

Another thing: the NOA lists my name (GC holder) as the petitioner: shouldn't that be my USC wife?

Did they cash your check whilst you had been waiting for your NOA1?

Please add me to the timeline we submitted the application to Vermont on 09/15/12 but still no check cashed or NOA1

yes they did, 2 days after we filed. that was the only proof that we had filed timely before I got my NOA tonight. Now I'm only waiting for the biometrics appointment, and once I am done with that they can take all the time they want to process my petition: I DON'T CARE.

congratulations on getting your NOA1. The language is standard; if you have already sent in your evidence, you don't have to send more documents .

When we got the NOA, my husband's name was on it (he was applying for ROC and I am the USC). In this leg of the journey, the GC holder is the one petitioning to get the conditions removed from his/her green card.

OK, thank you for reassuring me. I thought some moron had screwed up. It would be hilarious to get a GC in my wife's name: she has Mexican origins, and when we travel to sensitive places, i.e. Arizona, she is the one getting questioned about her immigration status, while they call me "sir" and let me in peace. LOL

This particular paperwork was confusing in that regard. The instructions and all say that you and your spouse must petition together, yet technically speaking it's the GC holder that's petitioning. I reckon it's in reference to the fact it requires both individuals working together to gather all the necessary evidence to prove your relationship. Still, when we were gathering our evidence I kept feeling like I should have been completing more of the form than what was required of me (as USC). Oh well.

I know what you mean. I actually put most of our packet together, even though it was for my husband's GC. I kept including more evidence and at some point, my husband said "are you sending them a novel?".

However, when the approval comes, it's all worth it.
