I 751 September 2012 Filers

Sent out our I-751 last Monday, received the NOA today. I went to put in the numbers online to track the case, it was invalid. So I called USCIS, they said the number is in fact invalid and that I needed to speak with a higher level of customer service to get this fixed butttt that they are having technical difficulties and I would either have to call back in 2-3 hours or I could leave them a voice-mail or send an email.

Sigh

I opted to call back in a few hours. I asked the rep I spoke with if this happens a lot, she said yes =/

I think the USCIS Case/tracking number comes in the Bio appointment letter. I think it says that in your NOA.

That's correct, I called yesterday with the same issue and they told me that number is just for their reference and the number I need to track the status of the case will come on the Bio Appointment letter.

Just received the biometrics letter in the mail today. Bio appointment is on 10/15. We can always do a walk-in like we did for the AOS biometrics, correct?

Received Biometrics letter today....we are scheduled for October 15th in Cleveland for this....I just want this to be over with!

I got my biometrics letter today as well...also for Cleveland. I am going on 10/12 I never received a NOA that they got my application. Should I just ask for a stamp to extend my green card for a year when I do my biometrics?

Hang in there, sometimes they never send NOA, you might just get Bio letter. I think you should have it tomorrow or by Monday. I am waiting for Bio letter at this point, hope to get it tomorrow. All the best :thumbs:

My urgency lies in the fact that I would have to travel overseas for work at the end of October, so I was hoping to get both NOA and Bio letter scheduling an appointment before my departure date. Otherwise I will just have to cancel my travel (no arrangements made yet).

if I go to an irs office, will I get it right away? Or do they simply order it for me and then id have to wait for it to be delivered to my place?

I'm sorry about your NOA. It should come not too long now.

You get them on the spot from the IRS rep. I just did this today, walked into the local IRS office, no line at all, she asked me for ID since we filed together, printed whichever years I wanted and that was it. Took 5 minutes total.

Yeah, called again and they told me where it said it on the NOA. I guess I just didn't bother reading that last paragraph! lol. She did say if my husband didn't receive his Biometrics interview letter by 10/14/12 to call them back.

I don't know how to do the little copy/paste list thing, but my the receipt date is 9/14/12

Still waiting for my Bio letter. Hope it gets here soon so I can ask for the day off and make arrangements to go to Des Moines. It's a hefty 2/2.5 hr drive.

Hoping today or tomorrow it'll show up. *fingers crossed*

Do you guys know what the normal timeframe is from when the USCIS receives the ROC package until they send you the NOA and the Biometrics letter? Our package was delivered on September 11th, and so far I haven't gotten either. I'm not worried about the NOA, my GC is still valid until December and in case I can always do an infopass and get a temporary stamp on my passport (not that I am looking forward to having to take a day off to go to their office, but if needed I will). I only hope that my biometrics letter didn't get misplaced and then I find out that I missed my appointment. Is there a way to request info via telephone (not that I am looking forward to calling the misinformation line either...)?
