Ok, here is a update on my case status.

I filed 20th Sept 2012, NOA for 21st september. I received my biometrics for Oct 2012 and up until yesterday, nothing. I put in a Service Request June 6th to find out what is going on with my case. Well, yesterday I received a letter from the USCIS. Their were 2 things in this letter.

The first, telling me that they have tried to contact me however the mail was returned to sender as the address was incorrect. When I filed my AR 11 (change of address) I made sure that it was correct, I live in an apartment. They sent me a letter saying that the change of address with added to my file back in September 2012. They even sent my Biometrics appt to this address! And now they are asking me to file another AR-11.

The second part was the orignal letter they tried to send me back in May 2013 saying my case had been moved to my local field office for a interview. To date, I have not received a letter for a interview, however I am going to be calling them first thing on Monday to make sure that they actually have my correct address listed (we know they do as previous mail has been sent here).

My question is this. Is being scheduled for a interview better or worse than them asking me for a RFE. I am guessing it is better because they would have asked me for a RFE before they schedule a interview, I am a divorce waiver.

What do you guys think?

I think an interview is much better than an RFE, because as I understand it you really don't have that much more evidence to send. I think because of your situation an interview was to be expected. You will be able to explain your situation in person as opposed to the rigid "on paper" RFE situation.

Because your case is particularly hard "on paper" evidence wize, I think consulting with an immigration attorney (if not already) wouldn't be a bad idea. The interview has the potential to be a little intense, and it may require some follow up afterwards and it sounds like they have already made it more complicated for you with the letter mess up. You're right, you should call ASAP and ask about the interview date etc. if it is not explained in the letter.

I would say they messed up a little as all other letters have been sent here without problems.

I am not going to consult an attorney though. From what I have read up, the interview is pretty much the same as the first one you have when you file for the 2 year ocnditional. I have nothing to hide and it was not me that filed for divorce, we have a child together and I own and operate a sucessful business employing Americans. I have all the evidence I think I need to show that I entered the marriage in good faith. I was with my ex wife in the UK for nearly 3 years before I came here.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think everything will work out for you just fine. I am just imagining myself in your shoes, as I probably have the same fate awaiting me. Obviously I don't know much about your situation compared to my own. I have totally freaked myself out by reading way too many other waiver case interviews on here. Some of them sound very very intense, taking hours and sometimes even a second interview. Some people even had really decent evidence and little reason to think of fraud which really concerned me. You are like me though, I would probably wait until after a "bad feeling" after the interview before talking to an attorney.

My only area of concern is your paper evidence and duration of marriage while in the US. Co-habiting in particular. They have given me A LOT of grief over that issue in particular in the past, and they did not care even slightest about the duration of my relationship outside of the US. Obviously you will be fine, and I think having a child together is pretty damn bulletproof. I just hope they make it easy breezy for you sir. I am living vicariously through you at this point haha I apologise if I am "projecting" on to you, but can't help but think of what awaits me as you are basically a month ahead of me.

OK! My wife finally received her green card (kaashparinda below) on June 12, 2013. (Sorry for the late update, we were out of the country-wife entered back to the US based on her old gc and extension letter, we did this twice this month!).

Also on June 12, 2013 they mailed a letter to her in response to my service request of 6/4/2013 stating the obvious, that the GC was mailed; I tracked it using their updates and it was "delivered" on June 12. Not sure if the service request sparked this or if folks routinely got their GCs in production around the same time.

Made appropriate changes below to the CSC table.

Good luck to all pursing this. I will linger and provide feedback when appropriate. And move to the US citizenship forum!

Thanks Yurika & Jim. I think I also miscalculated the percentage, counting myself. I realized later that we are only counting approvals, not receipt of green card.

Hello,

My wife and I are in a very strange situation and I was hoping someone else has either experienced something similar or can tell me what is going on. The timeline of our application was similar to the ones above. We filed in CSC in early september, noa and biom shortly after and got the approval letter on 4/9/2013 without any RFE's. The letter was signed from the local office. On 5/31 the web site case status was updated and it said that the production of the card has been ordered and it will be 30 days. Many of you have received that. Well so far no card, but what is really odd is that last friday the status changed again:

On June 14, 2013, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Please notice the word "initial". The circles on top of the page are no longer highlighted and we don't even know what phase are we in. We haven't received anything in the mail yet. The local UCSIC office wasn't much help. The person that is on the front desk has already told us few inacurate things so I can't trust him, besides he is not saying anything in particular - simply to wait and see. The 800 number as many of you know is even less helpful - the representatives are saying "please allow 15 days for the mail to arrive" based on the last status update.

At this point we don't know what to think or do. What we also noticed in the title of the status page is the following:
