I 751 September 2012 Filers

As I've been anxiously awaiting my approval letter, I got something I NEVER thought we would get: the dreaded RFE.

I am EXTREMELY frustrated with this as I spent so much time collecting this and I basically sent them everything I had:

Apt lease with both names

Our joint tax return transcripts

Car title with both names

Several bills in his name or my name with same address (all of our utilities will only put one name on the bill)

Bank statements from our two bank accounts - which apparently a couple statements scattered throughout our marriage isn't enough

They are asking for:

"Joint ownership of assets"

"Joint responsibility for liabilities"
"An active commingling of finances for the duration of the marriage"

I can get more bank statements and possibly his life insurance policy with me as the beneficiary, but does anyone have any other recommendations? We have no kids, no house, all our credit cards are individual... we're only 25 and I don't want to write a will yet! At this point I just want to interview to show them in person. I feel like it would be a lot less hassle.

-Health Insurances (medical, dental, vision).

-Any loan you guys took within marriage? Maybe bought a car?

-I printed my bank statements online. Can't print them from there?

-Auto insurances

-Renter's insurance

-Retirement plans (401k or pension)

I have been looking at this thread daily for the past month or two, but first time posting.

Received my approval today, dated 4/25. Added myself to the CSC list.

I thought for sure the the envelop would contain an RFE- for following reasons:

- biometrics redo, and the second set was also very poor quality

- we do not have a joint bank account

- only sent in 1 year's tax documents along with our daughter's birth certificate and insurance (health+auto) cards, no photos or plane tickets (obviously I only started looking at this site after I filed 751!)

Reading what everyone has written here, I was so worried. Good luck to everyone waiting.

Can we please put on mine that there was a service request to California on Dec 21/12 as I hadn't heard from them for biometrics. Might as well note it. Thank you.

As I've been anxiously awaiting my approval letter, I got something I NEVER thought we would get: the dreaded RFE.

I am EXTREMELY frustrated with this as I spent so much time collecting this and I basically sent them everything I had:

Apt lease with both names

Our joint tax return transcripts

Car title with both names

Several bills in his name or my name with same address (all of our utilities will only put one name on the bill)

Bank statements from our two bank accounts - which apparently a couple statements scattered throughout our marriage isn't enough

They are asking for:

"Joint ownership of assets"

"Joint responsibility for liabilities"

"An active commingling of finances for the duration of the marriage"

I can get more bank statements and possibly his life insurance policy with me as the beneficiary, but does anyone have any other recommendations? We have no kids, no house, all our credit cards are individual... we're only 25 and I don't want to write a will yet! At this point I just want to interview to show them in person. I feel like it would be a lot less hassle.

Thanks as always for everyone's help. I would have never made it this far without yall!

Sorry to read that. Unfortunately, we are on the same boat... I thought we would be approved too, since everything went so smoothly. I thought we also had a pretty solid "file". However, we moved after filing the ROC and kept our old PO box (we don't get mail at home here in the ski towns) and got an other PO box in our new town... I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't like that..

It's so frustrating that we have to prove we are a real couple after 7 years of relationship.

Sorry to hear about this.

Question: When you say you gave them bank account info, are these joint accounts with co-mingled assets? Can you document that after you got married, you made your accounts joint and show that this has continued? That would have more weight, also insurance policies with each other as beneficiaries. They want to see you act as one from the time that you are married, they don't care about time prior (that's important to get the visa).

Forgot to come update this! We were approved with no issues! So excited, this is the last step for us for a while since we won't be filing for naturalization any time soon as Denmark doesn't recognize duel citizenship. So, so happy to be done. I was dancing at work when I heard the news.

September CSC filers: Have more of you actually received the physical green cards than is reflected here? If I look at the VSC filers, most seem to get their cards a week or so after approval. However, of the CSC September filers, most of them do not have their cards yet, even if they were approved several weeks ago. We are in the same situation, having been approved about 2 weeks ago.

I haven't received it yet, it's been 3 weeks since I was approved. They said it would come within 60 days, I guess we will just have to wait.

I guess so. Though why it should take 60 days to print and mail a card defies logic, and August CSC filers seemed to get theirs pretty quickly.

Will be so glad to be done with these people already.
