No updates here either. It's been 6 months since we filed. How long does the process normally take?

Is it a good idea to travel overseas in the next 2-3 months while the application is still pending?

Just remember, you still have a chance to get RFE or Interview letter from now. (Some June/July filers are getting RFE these days...)

Can you wait a bit? If you are lucky enough, you will get approved in 2 months and you can travel with new GC

Does he have the biometrics letter with their stamp and signature? The receipt number of the biometrics letter is what you'll need to track his case on the USCIS site. If he plans to travel then an infopass may be what you need. To get a job it depends, he can show his social security card, driver's license, etc.

Thanks for the advice! The problem is that the biometrics letter was misplaced shortly after the appointment. We're not too worried about travel at the moment since his family has been visiting us instead. As for employment, his SS card has the stamp stating that another form of employment verification is needed (i.e. green card/EAD). I've read that the passport stamp is more for travel so I'm guessing that isn't going to help us

Have you heard of any other way to prove that he is legal to work here?

Today is 6.5 months and not a word since Biometrics. My husband had heard that they moved a lot of California's case load to Texas as they were so far behind. I am going out of my mind waiting and not seeing any movement. :bonk: Someone want to come with a cattle prod so we can get these people moving on our files

How are you guys? am in the same boat like you guys, i applied on the 26th of sept 2012 for ROC in the california service centre and had my biometrics done on the first day of november and thats it, was hoping for an approval this month but i think thats not going to happen. If you can please add me to the thread that shows the percentage of approvals from our filing date, just cant get it right pls... and by the way i used to live in melbourne for about 7 yrs and my brother and other family still live there.

Adding Reje to CSC list Is 9/26 your sent date? If so, when is the Receipt Date on your NOA letter? You need that date for the list too

6.5 months go by and here we all sit too...good thing we were warned on here that the wait time is long. I'm thinking we will be filing for naturalization before the ten year GC ever gets here.

I concur, and it is somewhat annoying considering the 590 1-dollar bills we paid for this. I was hoping to hear something by mid-March, but at this point I doubt it.

It made me said when I made my little research and found out that the centers were moving pretty quick, we are talking about approval within 4 months period and now it's 9 months. I mean if it was not for dealing with the government I would've been demanding to know what's going on since I paid such amount. but let's be patient, they are close they started working on august so it will be soon.

I am a September last week applicant and I have been excited ever since. But for the time that's all that I can do cause its been 6mnths and 3 days since I applied.

Not much excitement here, ultimately I can still do what I was doing before (work, travel, etc.), so they can take as long as they want and fix their plumbing problems properly. I intend to file the N-400 in September anyway.

Can we apply for citizenship while our ROC is being processed?

Yes, you can file as soon as you meet the requirements for filing (3 years of marriage, 3 years less 90 days of residency). This will force them to look into your ROC application first, and then move on to the naturalization part.
