NVC Filers - September 2012

Well, the 24th was when I realized I wasn't going to get an email, and checked the forms portal and noted it listed as 'Completed'. Could have said that days before, I'm not sure. Nothing says "accepted," though.

I believe it says completed after you complete it though. Since there's no AVR to call to learn of its acceptance (this is what I did), you need to call up NVC and ask an operator on the status of your DS-261 (accepted or not).

When sending AOS or IV packet, should I include a copy of all the papers that are in the packet already (sort of sending two sets of same documents)? Or should I just make copies for me and beneficiary for our own record? I'm not sure where I read it and if it was related to the NVC process.

The ONLY things you need to include copies of are the marriage and birth certificates in the IV package (and divorce/military certificates, if applicable). The reason for these photocopies is so the originals/certified copies can be returned at the interview.

But you should also make an entire copy of each package for your own records. I'd then suggest bringing this copy to the interview, just in case.

You said "birth certificates". The beneficiary's AND mine as well? I thought that at this point they only ask for documents related to the beneficiary.

What about the divorce certificate - the beneficiary's or the petitioner's? Or both?

They said they received my DS-261 on Sept 21st--even though I completed it on September 15th. They just approved it today, and I should be invoiced in the next couple days.... As ALWAYS, thanks Saylin!

Even though you submitted it on the 15th, it doesn't mean NVC "received" it, per se. Think of it as an email queue, they still need to get to your online form. But anyways, glad it was approved today! Keep an eye on the payment portal now, the IV bill can be invoiced any day!

okay guys i finally got case complete, we send email to expedite the interview and it was approved thank God. when my husband called NVC they told him to call back on Monday to know the interview date!!

I'm confused shouldn't NVC send my package to embassy first and then embassy schedule interview?or how is that work?

anyone knows how this work?

Usually the appointment comes first, then the package is sent. Not sure if that changes when expedited.

I am still waiting on my case to be completed. I am calling NVC daily to find the status but no luck yet. Hopefully should get to hear 2 charming words today

Man if there ever was a time for every country to have EP is now. It's day 18 still waiting on husbands mail of all his IV BILL stuff. Ughhh this is beyond aggravating.
