Congrats!

When did NVC received ur IV packet? I hope im next on the row to get case complete

The IV was received on the 20th.

I guess the 3 days it spent doing circles around VA wasn't really a set back afterall -- it was approved the day after they approved the AOS though it was received 3 days after they received the AOS. Thank GOD is circled VA and I intercepted it -- otherwise we'd have an RFE and still be waiting!!!!!

I can't tell you guys how happy I am.... 15 months down, only ~4 to go. I'm going to make the last 4 my B-word for sure!

Case complete!!!!!!

Grats! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Wow. I'm so happy for you. Wonderful news. :)

I'm off to Stockholm in a couple hours. I'm going to stay the night at my brother, he lives in southern Stockholm. That way I know I won't have to risk the trains running late or something tomorrow morning. Västerås is only an hour from Stockholm by train, but I'd rather not risk it. I can just hop on the subway tomorrow morning, switch to a bus that stops right on the street where the embassy is, no problems.

The interview is at 9:00 AM local Swedish time tomorrow morning, 3:00 AM New York time. I think I have everything in order, I am only going to pick up stamps and some photos on the way to the train station here in Västerås. I may not need the photos but I thought it couldn't hurt to have some developed anyway. Besides I can just give them to my mom afterwards, I know she'll appreciate that.

So, yeah... See yinz on the other side. :)

Sounds like a better idea to stay with your brother! And good luck at the interview!

Question, for Saylin or anyone who has extensive knowledge -- to schedule the medical appointment do you NEED to have the interview appointment letter? (ie; does that need to be brought to the doctor?). The medical needs to be done 3 weeks BEFORE the interview, but if they get us in quickly, I may not have that time.... what do I do!?

Medical requirements differ by country. For Canada, the interview letter is required (ie, no advance medicals). You're going to need to contact the panel physician in your country and see what the requirements are.

And NVC usually schedules the interview one month out, so you should be okay with plenty of time to get the medical done.

Hmm, now I'm curious, too. I read that the medical record is valid for 12 months (6months in some cases). So, my husband had his done about 2 months ago, and the doctor he went to agreed on the above information. My husband showed him our then USCIS case number. I also know that the doctor knew that it wasn't NVC case number yet. However, nobody asked him for the interview letter.

Let's wait for someone experienced to answer. My husband may have get his done again if you are right...

Saylin, but is it true about the 3week period? Or does it also depend on the country?

That differs by country. For Canada, you can get it done whenever, doesn't need to be within a certain time frame of the interview. I got mine done about a month before my interview. Most medicals are valid for 6 months though.

I just want to double check that I am sending everything I need. I just completed the DS-260 online and now need to send the supporting documents. This is Hubby (us citizen) is the petitioner and he is applying for his step-mother. All scanned copies of originals that will be e-mailed.

Step Mom's Birth Certificate

Step Mom's Mexican Passport bio page

Passport Pics, scanned 4 copies, 2 front, 2 back

Dad's and Step Mom's Marriage Certificate

Dad's and Bio Mom's divorce decree (not sure if I need, was sent to USCIS, but including it just in case)

Hubby's Birth Certificate

Hubby's US Passport showing he is a citizen (again not sure if needed, was sent to USCIS, but including it just in case)

Mexico doesn't require police record.

Is that everything? Am I missing anything.

Is there a cover letter to include in the e-mail anywhere?

PS do I need to include a copy of the cover page I received when I paid the IV fee?

Ok, my spouse is approved for her visa.

She was asked -

What I do

How we met

What my parents do (especially my dad)

She was asked for our wedding pictures and asked to identify some people

And then he said he is approving her, handed all the originals. She was given a pink card and told to pick visa up from some other place (probably courier or something) on Monday.

Yes, her divorce decree is needed. The hubby's passport isn't needed for the IV package (but you can always include if you want, doesn't hurt). But what is needed is the hubby's marriage certificate(s) (requirement for IR-5 visa applicants).

Other than that, looks good good.gif

Not sure if it's needed for EP cases anymore, but I'd suggest including the bar-coded cover sheet from the payment portal.

The cover letter is optional, but I still suggest including one. It's a good way to clearly outline the organization of the package.
