Since you're so close, I suggest just waiting. Once you do get your interview date, you can always contact the embassy and request for a sooner one, if possible.

I just really hope it doesn't take until 10/19 to review my stuff (that would be 20 biz days from the time they received IV). That's mean I'm definitely out of the race for a November interview.

IDK why you didn't send it as soon as you physically paid it! I sent mine literally 5 minutes after paying and having access to the bar coded sheet and ran across no problems.

Best of luck!

WOW! I surely hope you get a quicker date and come on home Mr. B! It's been an aggravating ride for you! We are still here watching, waiting and praying for you to be with your wife very soon! Two weeks is not too bad. Do you have everything else handled? Ready to fly???? God bless and say Hi to your wife from all of us! :D

Thank you kindly. My new interview date is September 28, that is to say Friday this week. I'm not sure it's sunk in yet.

I have done what I thought to be the right thing and not put my apartment up for sale until I have the visa in my hand, so that will be the last thing I need to take care of after I have my visa. Assuming I get approved I figure I will be in Pittsburgh before the end of the year; hopefully in time for Thanksgiving. I would very much like to celebrate Thanksgiving with my new family. Thanksgiving is a tradition we don't have in Sweden, but it's something you often see in movies and tv series and so on, so I would love to see what that is like. The 4th of July is the only American holiday I've had the opportunity to celebrate so far. Halloween I can do without, or at least wait another year. We've even started celebrating it in Sweden the last couple of years (in the past we had our own All Saints' Day celebration but the American version is taking over more and more). But yeah, although we have tons to be thankful for in Sweden, we have no Thanksgiving.

Yay! That's great that the embassy is making up for lost time :P That will be great if you get to PA for Thanksgiving. I too hope my husband is here for Thanksgiving.

Just an update about my case. I called back yesterday and asked to speak to the supervisor that requested my case file. I was told that the supervisor had forwarded it to another supervisor. The operator couldn't tell me more than that and the original supervisor was not available. I asked what the results of the original supervisors review were and couldn't get any information. I pressed the operator and told her that I needed to know in case I had to send another copy because this issue had already delayed us a week. She said "don't send anything until you hear from us." But I never heard back from the original supervisor I spoke with last week. The original supervisor did call me back about 10 minutes later and said the passport copy was fine and clear as day. She didn't know why it was not accepted the first time around. At least she apologized for the NVC oversight. She was having it sent to the supervisor that does the updating. I asked how long that would take and she said should be done this week.

Obviously this is a systematic problem because I and another VJer whose beneficiary is from Norway both got the same RFE at the same time for the same embassy. The reviewing person/office wasn't trained and caused a lot of extra work for the NVC and us a big delay to getting case closed.

ORRRRR could it be that I'm not going to get an email "ACCEPTING" it since I submitted it online and not through email--it shows "COMPLETED", does that mean its been processed?

Like you I did the DS-261 only, I didn't email the DS-3032, BUT got a confirmation email saying, among other things:

"We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032.

For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee or for answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the following website:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3904.html"

I'm assuming that means the 261 was accepted, but you know what they say about assuming, especially with this process, lol.

Hi guys! :)

I don't know where to ask this question so I just picked a forum .

My husband and I filed for the I-130 almost five months ago! He's a USC and I'm Belgian. My hubby called USCIS last week and requested to talk to a Tier 2 supervisor, who told him that they are processing applications with NOA1 date 27th of April '12 (our is 1st of May)... We have to hear from them any day now I guess???

I roughly know what the process will be after we get approved (hopefully!), but I wonder if they require an Affidavit of Support for every application?

I'm worrying a bit since my husband is an Air Force Reserve and currently still in college, so his income is not too high. (I am currently still working at my job in Belgium).

How much does he need to make to stay over the poverty line for both of us?

(Of course I am planning on looking for a job as soon as I would move.)

Thanks in advance and good luck to all of you!

- Paperwork for Green Card received by USCIS: May 3, 2013
- Interview date: 24 March 2016: approved! (after 3 long years!)

- N-400 sent out: December 26, 2018
- NOA1/priority date: December 31st, 2018
- Biometrics: January 30th, 2019
