Ok, I just got an e-mail stating that the Agent of Choice has been accepted and my IV fee has been assigned and I just checked can now pay the IV fee online. Even if I am or am not eligible for electronic process, is it even worth it at this point. They have my AOS packet and probably should be processes here shortly because they should have received it Monday. I can submit the DS-260 online through the online forms portal. Is there any advantage to ask to Opt In at this point, if even possible?

Ah, yes, if it's not MEP, then you can't do electronic processing. See the link on the first post that shows a table on who's eligible for electronic processing.

At this point, it's probably best to just mail the IV package. I don't know how long it would take to optin for your case, so it might just be faster to do the postal process.

Whohoo! Everything is a go! He said all they need is the ds230 form! And for it to be paid yay! Im gettin soooo nervous! Lol i needa shot of rum or something.. hellp me!! :)

Grats! kicking.gif Getting close to the finish line now!

Far out, looks like I got RFE for my birth certificate. I sent a notarised copy of the original. Is that unacceptable?

Apparently so. The guides and NVC should really make it clear that 'certified' does not mean.. certified. As I explained to the NVC, the primary purpose of a Notary Public/Justice of the Peace is to certify and witness copies of documents. In fact, most of them write/stamp that having sighted the original, they 'certify that this is a true and exact copy'. Not to mention, the NVC will happily accept a notarized copy of my passport (which obviously requires a valid birth certificate to acquire), yet not accept a notarized copy of my birth certificate.

Given that this requirement is against every other general government/legal process it should be made absolutely clear IMO. I had to leave work early, get in a taxi, get to the registry office, order an urgent copy, and UPS it off to the NVC to avoid further delays. For a PIECE OF PAPER.

Apparently everything else in our AOS/IV packet was fine (except, we did get the checklist for the police certificate so they still haven't figured out that part of their jobs yet). I explained that we followed the process on the embassy website, so I know that we have submitted the correct police certificate. The guy I spoke to said OK, it was only the birth certificate holding up the process.

At some point, it will be noted that the NVC is damaging the environment with the amount of physical paperwork they request (its 1973 in their offices), and will be forced to go green.

Starting biz day #4... AOS still hasn't been reviewed/accepted. Hoping I don't get an RFE. I used the 864EZ and sent in 5 or 6 pay stubs from Jan to August... which, the August YTD amount is more than sufficient to support my family of 3. Sent a letter from my employer too stating average hours worked and what my pay is. Sent in all MY personal W2s from last year (which worries me because my husband worked in the 2011 tax year -- I used his ITIN to file his taxes)... I sent in tax transcripts.. I sent in literally everything and then some. I hope they accept it. Last year I was pregnant and only working 2-3 days a week (so ~20 hrs) as a waitress, I lost my husband's income in June 2011 when he went to immigration jail.. but in my employer's letter it says I've been working here at my current job as a legal assistant since Nov 2011. That should be fine, right?? I mean, I've been here almost 10 months..

Sorry. Just kind of thinking aloud and worried about RFEs...

Uggh...still waiting on DS-3032 acceptance.

Sent the first one on 8/28, two weeks later got rejected, sent again on 9/11...still nothing even though some people who sent theirs on the 10th have since gotten invoiced.

This is by far the most useless form/part of the process What's wrong with designating an agent over the phone? I mean that's how we have to give them our email address anyway!

Sorry fo the rant.

Mine got accepted and still no invoicing - ended up physically sending it and that one was acknowledged and my invoicing should be early next week.

I feel your pain as the email trick seems to be a bit iffy right now.

Just got my new case number from NVC yesterday. I was able to give her email addresses but she couldnt give me IIN number. She said case was just starting to be entered. She told me to call back in about a week. I will be calling back first thing Monday morning. Hope this process goes quickly. I was late in learning everything i needed once my case got to NVC so unfortunately they will probably be waiting on me to get all of my documents together. Have forms filled out and tax transcripts but we are waiting to get a passport for my step daughter. Her biological mom had to get the long form birth certificate for us and send it to us which they said quickest way to get here would be 10-20 days from Honduras. Once we have that my husband has to go to Honduras Consulate here in the states and get approval form signed and we have to send back to her stating she has his permission to get a passport. She will have to wait to get the passport and then send it back to us so we can send the copies we need with our packages. I knew that my step daughter was going to need a passport but didnt realize she would need it this soon. Wish i had done more research earlier!!
