I don't know about checking the payment portal. But yes, just wait. Wait a week after you think they will have received it and then you can start calling. I received notification by e-mail within a day of my case complete. Good luck!

I don't think they send out email notification of case complete for people filing through countries that haven't joined the 21st century electronic filing bandwagon. I practically had to send them smoke signals.

Typically it's the day after. You need to call NVC and ask for the date that it was mailed out. You can't use the DHL tracking trick until you know the exact date.

I tried every date between the day before we got interview date and tomorrow to create a reference number, then a couple of days before we got interview date and today for date range.

What's the PCC? And YIKES! can't believe I forgot to put the interview letter. This is why I am so grateful for you!

Oh, and yes you do. If I'm correct, it's the same website as the ASC one. You put where you want your visa to be picked up. I did that already. Correct me someone if I'm wrong!

PCC = police clearance certificate

If you do have to sign up, is there a confirmation page or something? If so, I'd suggest bringing it to the interview as well. For Canada, you're not allowed inside the consulate without 3 things: passport, interview letter, and DHL confirmation.

Okay so now that both packets are at NVC all I do is sit back and wait, right? I guess I could obsessively check payment portal -- I'll get an error message if it's closed, right? I don't want to wait anymore.

Wait and call. I suggest you start calling on Monday and every day after that.

And no, SIF (sign-in fail) no longer occurs. The ONLY way you'll know your case is complete (without waiting for the interview letter) is by calling NVC and asking.

Remember, only those doing EP get the case complete email!

Ohhh I think PCC is police certificate?? Because in Mexico that's not available so we don't need it.

Shoot, that's right. I forgot Mexico doesn't have PCCs! blush.gif

If you want to track your case, you NEED to call NVC and ask them if your case has been sent out yet. If so, what date.

Is this something one needs to track??

Nope, not at all. Just something to pass the time ;)

Ok, I called about mailing the AOS package and they said that I can't e-mail it, it has to be mailed because it is for a parent not a spouse. NVC has became so confusing in the last 3 year, there are so many different processes for different countries, etc.

PS they have reviewed the Choice of Agent and I should be assigned the IV fee shortly.

Ooooh that does make things different! Yeah, if your case number isn't MEP something, then yeah, it's not electronic processing.

Me and My Mexican Hubby...

2009 Met in Mexico and got engaged

2010 I moved to Mexico and got married

2012 I moved back to U.S. by myself to work and send i-130 petition for him.

24 JUL 2012 AOS fee available and paid through the payment portal - direct deposit

25 JUL 2012 AOS fee shown as paid!! I-864 package e-mailed to NVCelectronic@state.gov

01 AUG 2012 IV Bill Invoiced and paid

02 AUG 2012 IV Bill shown as paid and DS-260 completed and documents sent!

Nope, no need to. Once NVC sends your package out to the embassy, they'll know of your case (and interview date). You only need to contact them if you need to reschedule.

If the IV is paid for, then yes, you can send the IV package with the AOS package.

Remember, it's more than just the DS-230 that needs to be sent in the IV package.

Has the DS-3032 been sent for your case yet? You usually get notice about the bills being invoiced.

Also, timeline.gif

I already sent the DS-3032 and paid AOS fee. As I've read from previous posts, I can just download I-864, and so I did and filling it up. I am just waitin for the letter of employment and the copy of tax return I requested from IRS. What else are included in the IV packet? Should I receive anything from NVC after paying AOS Fee and sending DS-3032? Can I just pay IV then if I can send AOS and IV packet together? Sorry I am really confused. Thanks for your patience :)
