It seems to take less time than AOS to say PAID so it may not matter. The only issue is if you make a mistake and the payment fails so it is up to you whether to wait one extra day or not.

Thanks guys,

I'll be FedExing it from Thailand, so it's going to take 36 to 48 hours to get there anyway. The payment will not fail.

Hope to get the invoice today or tomorrow!

Good Morning VJ!! Hope everyone is having a great day today!! Just wanted to clear and confirm regarding my wife's passport info. She currently has Passport however it has her maiden name. All of our paperwork thus far has her maiden name. I am not planning to change her name (Married name) until she comes here. However she stated she called the Passport Place and was advised that she must change it being that she was married.

I really do not want any Snags at all and I truly believe that it is a Racket (sad to say but it is!!).

So my question is, would this present any type of issues at this stage? Are we making the correct decision to just leave it be and then just make the changes once she is here?

Thank you in advance!!

I personally wouldn't suggest sending it until the payment has cleared. There's a few things that can go wrong that can delay your package if it arrives before the payment is cleared. You can send the package to your spouse though in the US, and then once the payment has cleared, they can mail it to NVC afterwards.

You'll have to check for that country if you NEED to change it. Otherwise, no, it's not a big deal. All my documents (passport, SSN, driver's license, green card, etc) are all in my maiden name. I filled out the forms in my maiden name. Has ZERO issues with it. But, in Canada, we're not legally required to change our names.

No one can really help you here with that question as it's completely regional-specific. I'd suggest you go look in the Mexico regional thread and see if you can find some information there.

Couple questions. I just logged on to the form portal and it looks like I can pay the IV fee, but I can't because its not showing up in the payment portal. Is this normal? This is what it says:

IV Application Processing Fees: Not Paid Pay

Also I sent the e-mail to NVC on Sept 10 for the DS-3032 and haven not received any response that it has been accepted. How long should it take? Do they e-mail you back saying that it was accepted?

I hate that they took away the auto system. Is there any way to tell if forms have been processed other than talking to a rep. I sent the AOS on Friday and they should have received it Monday. How long does it usually take to process that?

I just don't want to wait around when I should be doing something. I was thinking it would be moving a little faster than this by other's time lines.

You're using IE to log into the payment portal, right? It frequently doesn't work with other browsers. The site was designed for IE, and IE only. If it works on another browser, consider yourself lucky.

And being from Mexico, you weren't supposed to do the DS-3032. You were supposed to do the online version called the DS-261. Although, I've noticed that NVC still accepts DS-3032s for those required to do the DS-261. It's the DS-260 (online DS-230) that you ultimately must do as they won't accept the DS-230.

I hope when you say you "sent the AOS" that you emailed it. As Mexico is REQUIRED to do electronic processing (emailing packages to NVC).
