We are in the process of applying for hubby's step-mom. I know its not ir-1/cr-1, but the same process. I know there heading for family based immigration, but I don't see a similar thread there. Can I join in here? I've paid the AOS fee and send the AOS packet last week and am waiting to be invoiced for the IV fee.

An IR-5 is pretty much the same exact process as an IR-1/CR-1, just you have to submit a few different things. At NVC, that's just petitioner documents in the IV package. So, you can definitely join in here! :)

When you go to the post office tomorrow, explain that your package was supposed to arrive on so-and-so date, but it hasn't even left the state yet. Demand a refund for their ridiculous service.

Just need the form and bar-coded cover sheet. No need for an explanation, NVC will know what it is as it's marked in their system that you were issued a checklist.

If you didn't finish the question correctly, yes, you would have gotten a checklist.
