We got our case complete september 7th. Yesterday we received an e-mail that we have an interview date. October 9th! WooHooT!

I wish I had more people to compare myself to. There's literally one other person on this board going through ES and the ES section hasn't been updated since like, 2008

My AOS packet reached NVC this AM. But my IV package was "missent" -- it's at the more-local-to-me post office so I'm hoping they just ship it on it's way and it gets there by 9/17 like the postage I paid for said.

Yes, you need to file the I-751 form within 90 days of your expiration date on your green card. So, if your POE was 7/31/2012 and the expiration date on the green card is the same as your POE date plus 2 years, you would file between May 2nd, 2014 to August 30th, 2014.

After NVC has your packages, you should hear back within a week. As for interview date, this will ALWAYS vary by country. You can find out the next day or the next month. You need to do your own research for this part.

I always suggest putting the case number on every document and form for both packages. There are just TWO things you do NOT put the case number on: bar-coded cover sheet and cover letter (if you included one).

That's not an administrator issue. That's your own issue. To solve though: copy your entire signature and paste it in like Notepad or something. Then completely erase it all from your signature and save it. Then go back and put it back in. You're going to need to get rid of colors, bolds, italics, etc (IE, no formatting). You might also have to trim some stuff down. You're only allowed 40 lines of code for the signature, so use it wisely.

Is that October date the date on the email? If so, that is the date of document intake, the interview will take place the following day.

I think that NVC really schedules interview dates on second week of the month, specifically second Friday of the month. I saw many cases from Vietnam which completed in the beginning, middle, end of July, and beginning of August have interview date appointments last Friday. From the timelines of cases from Vietnam on other Vietnamese immigration forums, it takes up to 8 weeks since case complete to have interview date appointment. So jealous with you guys who can have appointment so early right after case complete.

do my husband need to send all original of his IRS , W2'S ,1040 and EMPLOYMENT LETTER? or just a PHOTO COPY????? or do he need a photo copy to enclose it when he send to NVC ?????... this is for mine and my daughter

I have a question about general time it takes to get interview scheduled... does it seem like there's a monthly cut-off date (if you will)? Like those completed by end of month, is that enough to get in for the next month's scheduling fiesta (the ACT of being scheduled, not the interview)? Or do you need to get it done by mid-month to get on the board for the next month??

Honestly its not when you finish. If you look at the October Interview thread people were done at beginning, middle and end of month. Heck a few just finished last week and still got in the October Queue.

If you're sending in tax transcripts, you don't need the 1040s. And if he didn't file jointly and needs to show just his income, W2s aren't needed either. Just transcripts. And I suggest sending in the originals, not photocopies, otherwise NVC might issue a checklist. Just make a photocopy of the employment letter for your records. And if you ever need tax transcripts again, then you can simply order them from IRS again for free.

Okay my AOS WASN'T delivered today. I attached signature confirmation like a dummy and since no one was there (business closed today) USPS left a note. Someone please ease my mind and tell me a giant government organization like NVC has someone that goes to the post office on Mondays to retrieve packets they tried to leave over the weekend.... :crying:

I googled and saw a bunch of threads on it. I feel better about it now.... fingers crossed!! Bad enough they delivered my IV to the post office down the street from me instead of to NH where it was SUPPOSED to go ;
