Hello,

One of the requirements for the USCIS interview is "A completed medical examination (FORM I-693) and vaccination supplement in sealed envelope (unless already submitted)."

My wife completed all the medical exam in Japan to get over here on the K-1 Visa and was given a DS-3025 to submit instead of I-693. As per the rules. "If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693." http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/101202-faqs-forms-i-693-and-ds-3025/

Do we still need to complete a I-693 for the USCIS interivew? or just show the original copy of the DS-3025? Would they really require us to do it again?

Sorry if this is repeated but i can't find the exact info.

Thanks!

Phil

If it's checked 'complete' or all age appropriate vacc's are there, you can send a copy of the ds-3025 with your AOS. And as long as it was done a maximum of 12 months ago. Personally, I'd make a coverletter for the AOS and add ds-3025 on it as ' unexpired ds-3025' or something similar along with the rest of the documents you've submitted.

Keep a copy of it at home though. USCIS is remarkable at getting the medicals lost.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Yes. We had it all prepared and submitted it in the AOS packet. I assume that's what they will want for the Interview as well, but I just want to make sure there are no surprises. If they require the I-693 regardless of if you submitted a DS-3025, type of thing, you know.

Thank you for your reply!

They'll only ask for it if they lost or misplaced the original, if it's missing age-appropriate vaccinations or if it expired before submitting AOS. You can bring a copy of the ds-3025 to your interview if you feel more confident that way.

Sometimes, those interview letters are pretty generic and asks for items you already submitted(hence the "if not already submitted"). Yours was handed over at POE so you should be good to go.

Hello all.

I'm just getting everything prepared for my interview on Tuesday. A friend of mine, who both him and his wife are immigrants, mentioned that he'd heard during the Green Card Interview they split the couple up into separate rooms and interview them. Try to see if the stories check out.

Can anyone confirm that? Or is the interview just the couple sitting down and talking with an interviewer and going over all the evidence?

Thanks in advance!

Don't rely on what your friend "heard," for all of life :)

This occurrence is very rare, and only happens in cases where they suspect fraud. Since you were already vetted at the consulate interview, it is even more rare. If it does happen, most people pass, and they just ask you questions from your normal life.

Normally, the couple is interviewed together, and most people are happy with their interview experiences. A lot of people even come back saying they were impressed with the IO and that they respect him/her, and that the experience was pleasant. Think about it, you get to talk about yourself for a while :)

Do not bother about that, if you sent a copy of the DS-3025 and did not receive a RFE for lost medical docs, you're good to go to the interview without I-693. Resullts of X-rays and others were in the sealed envelop given at POE.

To prepare you to the interview, best is to read reviews from VJ members who dealed with your USCIS office: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/
