I-864 actual requirements vs I-134 with a K1

Hi VJer

When my fiance's visa was approved, and we only included our co-sponsor's 3 most tax transcript's because their income exceeded the requirement. That was fine although the instructions said to have bank statements, pay stubs, etc. Does the I-864 also work that way? If you have enough documented income you don't need further financial evidence? Or was only needing tax transcripts a consular dependent phenomena?

Thanks!

I'm not suggesting what you should do,

I meet the income requirements for the I-864...the only evidence I sent was my tax transcripts and last 6 months of paystubs. They want to also see proof of "current" income so paystubs are important.

Why don't you read the instructions and find out.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

The I-134 does NOT require tax returns, this is something the individual countries differ on. It's not that big of a deal because it's not binding.

The I-864 on the other hand IS binding and the requirements must be followed.

The VJ GUIDES K-1/K-3 AOS guides and associated FAQs offer great tips, advice and information about all of the AOS forms, including the I-864. This is in addition to the already mentioned form instructions.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
