How soon can I send Pkt 3 to Montreal? (K-1)

Hi!

I have a MTL case #, and have everything together for Packet 3. I called DOS and they said Montreal has my case, but they haven't sent out Packet 3 to me yet. Can I send in Packet 3 before DOS says Montreal has sent my Pkt 3 to me?

And can I complete the last part in the DS-160 form now, where you sign it electronically... and print off the confirmation page now, or will it end up sending an electronic file to Montreal too early somehow?

So itchy to send this stuff in, but don't want to create a problem for us.

You can send Packet 3 as soon as DOS says it's been "logged," which is the green light for Montreal to send Packet 3 to you. You DO NOT have to wait for packet 3 to physically arrive in the mail before mailing it out, despite what a DOS operator may say (they all give different answers- they are not familiar with individual consulates typically.) Montreal is notorious for being slow sending out Packet 3 and 4; sometimes they never arrive in the mail.

You can complete the DS 160 now.

I never received a paper copy. I emailed them as soon as I knew it was at Montreal to do an address change, and they just emailed me packet 3 the next day.

2011-05-21: Matched on eharmony (clearly not in my 60 mile radius preference!)

You can send your completed Packet 3 as soon as DOS tells you it has been mailed to you.

US citizen since April 2016

ROC completed April 2014
