You were a bit vague on what exactly the reason was that led to your losing custody. None of our business I suppose. I hope you call your daughter regularly and very often and never miss an opportunity to see her! I would strongly advise you to begin now keeping a handwritten log of all your attempted contacts with your daughter if you experience ANY interference from her mother. I was in a similar situation with my 'ex-from-hell' when she decided to try and stop me from seeing my children. This handwritten log I kept was invaluable in winning the subsequent court battles! The time with your daughter is precious and can never truly be 'made-up' later!

Family court is a dangerous place for a Father. That you didn't understand why he lost custody is a blessing to you.

OP had primary custody of his Daughter from previous marriage, new Wife accused Husband of dastardly acts, (tape recorded an argument between him and his Wife - argument/raising your voice in front of your kids is emotional child abuse in Texas by the way), new Wife hooked up with Ex Wife to give her some proofs and evidence, (whom she hated by the way - OP is dealing with a master manipulator) and due to that Father lost primary custody. In Family court, Men are guilty until proven innocent. So Father would have spent all sorts of money defending himself and now on top of it all he'll probably be looking at paying child support.

I feel for OP. No one can understand how gut wrenching and emotionally and financially devastating this process can be, unless one has gone though similar circumstance.

I'm pretty certain OP stated that he is staying close so he can still see his Kids. Assuming he wasn't ordered to supervised visitation which is another expense.

I hope you are able to spend a lot of time with your daughter.

Your story should serve as a reminder to all parents to be extra careful about who they bring into their children's lives. It's not just your own happiness you're risking. Thank you for sharing your story.

I cringe whenever I read posts about folks blending families (with kids) with people they barely know. This is the 3rd post in as many months that has to do with kids.

I apologize for not giving out more sensitive information about this, on a public forum. Trust me, if it was up to me, it would not have happened. But I think I will be fine and I will have regular contact with my daughter. She is growing fast and soon it will be up to her to, how often we will meet. I have suppressed my emotions, I swallowed my pride, and I will compromise with whatever is necessary, to be with her on the regular bases. I was promised that it will not be a problem.

The purpose of my entry was not to discuss the custody. I just included it, so people could see, how far some would go to destroy another person. The human hatred has no limits and revenge can kill and will kill, again.

Really? I would have guessed they were just protective of their personal information on the internet. In the age of facebook, that might be a little unusual, but it doesn't make one a bad person, does it?

You provided lots of information, thank you for sharing. Your previous bullet points were right on I thought. If I was tasked to come up with an equation to determine "possibility of fraud" for any given petition I would have most of those bullet points as part of the equation.

Yeah, I feel your pain and I understand your reason for sharing this in VJ. Thank you.

Consequently, it is highly suggested that when looking for life partner, it is wise to choose the one who fears and loves God -- in short, try also to look at the INSIDE (heart) of the person, not just outside. This is very important for a lasting relationship as no matter what will happen, this person would always consider his / her conscience in doing things as he / she fears God. Before doing certain action, a good person would always think or ask if what he / she is about to do will please or delight God ? Hope this helps others who have experienced troubled and painful relationships. May the Lord bless everyone !

It doesnt matter how much you chat and sleep on skype and visit you are never certain. Its an inherent risk in marrying a foreigner. With that in mind you have to be careful and try to weed out the fraudsters as best as you can. And after that once you find the one well you should say a prayer as well and hope for the best bcoz u just never know...

totally disagree, there is a time when you CAN be certain that your spouse is NOT using you for a green card. it doesn't mean your marriage will work out forever, but its not true that EVERY single USC on here can NEVER fully trust and be 100% certain that their spouse is not an immigration scammer.... that's quite ridiculous to say actually
