How do you think we will stand at interview?

This might seem like a strange question, since the petition hasn't even reached the NVC. I guess reading so much on the forums has made me nervous because I am much older than my husband. I can only find good reviews of Skopje (YAY!) but is that realistic considering our age difference?

I am 29 years older than my hubby (but he is a grown man, not a kid). I don't look my age. Everyone says we are a nice/cute couple.

I made sure he knew up front

(1) I can't have more kids (he doesn't want the responsibility---I talked to him in person, made him tell me, so I could see his face)

(2) I have two daughters, one his age and one older. (Didn't bother him. My daughters have accepted him as my husband, friended him on facebook. Also his family accepts me)

(3) My age, and told him when he is 51 I will be 80.

We lived together as husband and wife for 6 weeks last year and I am returning next month for a shorter time. We have mountains of daily conversations in chat, email, facebook, letters, text messages, phone calls.

I guess we are assuming the embassy is going to be hard on him, but I haven't found anyone on the forum in a similar circumstance who went through Skopje. Just looking for input....thanks

Age gaps are common when it come to immigration/ marriage from foreigners.

If you have a legitimate marriage then nothing to worry about. But, I would suggest to attend the interview with your husband when time comes. It will make it much easier for him and much harder for the officer to play any games/turn him away or simply refuse to listen and return the package to the US which is a very long delay as some reported.

You will need to find if the embassy is ok with you attending with him (I would not email the embassy because they might simply say no, try to seek such information from others who went recently to the same embassy), some embassies don't allow anyone with the applicant, some do.

The info on this embassy said no, only the person listed for an interview can enter. I would be standing outside. Thanks for the input

I will be honest, you MAY bump into some hurdles. This is very unusual. Now as far as Kosovo goes, you'll get better responses with members that've gone through this experience through that Embassy. They know the cultural norms. Just be prepared for him to be asked: 'how is it her kids are older than you?' Some really mean CO's dare to go there.

I already told him I think they will ask him that. No children, first marriage for him. We had a looong discussion about this, more than once, before we were married. I asked him to explain his feelings to me in person. His story is always the same. He doesn't want the responsibility. He wants a fun life with me. Yes, he elaborated, in detail, I just didn't want to bore you. I was ready to walk away if I had any inkling he wanted kids. It would have killed me, but it would have killed me more to deny him something he wanted. He believes our love will prevail over their doubts.

But remember, the interview is not ONLY about what and how he feels. It's about what the CO perceives as truth or fiction. So, it is important you rehearse the interview. He must be consistent and to the point.

Are you asking if you will succeed in getting a visa or succeed in your marriage? The visa is rather incidental IMO. Not much more than a nuisance. Life is another issue altogether.

If you are solid in your marriage why would anyone view it differently? Simply show how solid you are.
