Ain't looking good for Mitt, is it?

]‘Honey Boo Boo’ Ratings Top RNC’s[/url]

Mitt Romney and company couldn’t beat the allure of a self-proclaimed “redneck” family. According to Nielsen overnight ratings, TLC’s controversial reality show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” drew 2.9 million viewers Wednesday night at 10 p.m. In second place: Fox News’ coverage of the Republican National Convention, to which 1.2 million adults tuned in.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Honey Boo Boo” scored more viewers in the key 18- to 49-year-old demographic than the RNC coverage on any one of the individual broadcast networks. But, of course, aggregate coverage of the RNC across networks topped “Honey Boo Boo’s” numbers.

“Honey Boo Boo,” a spin-off of TLC’s equally eyebrow-raising series “Toddlers and Tiaras,” debuted earlier this month to 2.2 million viewers. Its star is Alana, a 6-year-old pageant queen better known as Honey Boo Boo Child. Among the show’s apparent charms: Honey Boo Boo’s catch phrases (for example, ”A dollar make me wanna holler”) and inability to control herself after drinking “go-go juice,” a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew.

What I find even more disturbing is that anyone over the age of 12 would watch a show called "Honey Boo Boo".

Very true. And yet more than twice as many as would bother watching Mitt on GOP TV tuned into the sicko show featuring a redneck family. Mitt ought to be concerned that an abused, fat little girl on Mountain Dew is more interesting to watch than him. But hey, he had an old man on stage yelling at an empty chair. What gives?

I don't know why they bother with these long drawn out conventions anymore, hardly anyone tunes in. They should have a one night deal for the tv audience and be done with it. I didn't watch the convention, but I did check out the Clint Eastwood video. As much as I like Clint, I gotta give the nod to the chair.

The other problem the GOP faces is that Clint was the best they could do for their biggest night before the election. An 80 year old man is who they chose to relate their vision to the American public? That's a big time fail.

Seriously. Their base probably thought that "skit" was hilarious, but what are the chances that it actually swayed any of the undecideds that were watching?

No chance at all. The Republicans have failed to re-invent themselves ever since Reagan left office. They are running out of voters that are still breathing.

More ** spin. I hope there is an adequate supply of antidepressants for you folks in November. Compare one channel carrying Honey Boo Boo, against only one of the channels carrying the RNC is just a little disengenuous.

Lets see 17.103 million viewers and a 3.4 rating combined, and that doesn’t even include MSNBC or other cable networks’ coverage. Honey Boo Boo’s totals: 2.992 million viewers and a 1.3 rating.

Even a six-year-old hopped up on go-go juice would know that she was far less popular than politics. So we can relax and stop writing sensational headlines

I personally don't think it matters how many watched it ... what I think matters is whether or not they got the correct message across, and I don't believe they did. They pandered to the people already voting for them when I think it's more important to reel in the people who are undecided.

We'll see, I guess.

I watched a good bit of the convention but yesterday, I was done watching before Mitt ever came on.

Did you do any minority counting?
