HAWAII (KRON) -- A Tsunami Warning issued for the state of Hawaii is now cancelled but similar warnings remain in effect for parts of Indonesia, the Philippines and Belau after a Magnitude 7.6 quake Friday morning.

Scientists say the earthquake was about 21 miles deep. It is centered near Sulangan along the eastern coast of the Philippines.

At least two aftershocks measured at Magnitude 5.4 and 5.5 were reported within minutes of the initial quake.

While the tsunami warning was cancelled for Hawaii, experts say some coastal areas in the state could experience "small non-destructive sea level changes and strong or unusual currents lasting up to several hours." If that happens, it should start at about 12:30 p.m. Hawaii time, 3:30 p.m. California time.

There are no confirmed reports of damage or injuries from the quake yet.

Stay tuned to KRON 4 and KRON4.com for the latest on this developing story.
