hello to everyone here,

my friend had just her interview few days ago, she doesn't know whether she's approved or not because the interview the interview did not say anything nor put a stamp in her passport but her I-94 was taken. the question is, is it possible for her to travel without the stamp in her passport? and what is the relevance of welcome letter that was sent to her the day of her interview? she is worrying that she might not gonna travel next next week because her I-94 was taken and her passport was not stamped..

pls inform us the best thing that she could do.

thank u so much!

she should not travel until she has her greencard.... if that has not come yet and she is dew to travel she must go back to the local office on an inopass appointment and show her flight tickets and ask for the I-551 stamp....

The welcome letter is the approval notice she will recieve from USCIS before her greencard arrives....

The 7th is still a couple of weeks away - why can't she go for the stamp? Why risk running into problems at the airport on her return?

take their advice and get a stamp first/ wait for GC. if she doesn't have the stamp, she might end up getting held up in the airport. she has to prove her status in the US and without the stamp or GC she will get in trouble.

Without a valid entry document to the US, the airline will not even let her get on the plane to get back home... Sorry, but she needs either the I-551 stamp or the GC to travel.

She should have informed the officer of her imminent need to travel at the interview and ask for the stamp... Now she will have to make an Infopass appointment and go back to get it...
