Hello All,

I thought that the USCIS website would wake up and finally update more frequently my case status for both my employment authorization and my Adjustment of status but whenever I check my I765 online, there is always the :" Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status:

Your I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION was received on September 13, 2006. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates."

No touch, no transfer, nothing after a month?! The same thing almost applies to the adjsutment of status except that that I had an update only to state that they received my RFE response and that the preliminary processing is done.

What can I do to have more current info?

What explains that for applicants it takes only 1 month and a half to get through the entire process and get approved?

Thanks for your inputs

It typically takes more than a month & 1/2 to get through the EAD process (average 70-100 days), not sure if your confusing EAD processing with AOS transferring to CSC.

Most likely progress would have been stalled on your EAD pending response for your RFE. Spokane is processing EAD application for 7/30/06... so you have a bit of a wait ahead of you, and the next step would be getting your biometrics completed (some other rare occurences may be different than this). Your EAD application does not get transferred, and you can follow current processing dates on the USCIS Website.

Also note some people get online updates, some do not. Just keep tabs on your case by way of processing dates.

The EAD is processed in Missouri for all marriage based AOS applications. Also the AP. To find out about processing dates you should check out the Missouri service center (national benefits center).

A lot of people don't get touched in a while, it means nothing, don't worry.

Your AOS (i-485) can be transferred to the CSC which means no AOS interview and green card right away, but only for K1 applicants. If you adjust from another visa type, you will have an interview. Missouri does the preliminary processing and then will send it to Spokane in your case, where the interview will take place.

Good luck!

I am not mistaking AOS for EAD. I was thinking about AOS for the whole transferring process, sorry about the confusion.

I already got my biometrics! I guess what baffles me is that only the "snail mail" route seems to be working so far. I am just feeling lost because of the the lack of efficiency for the online update...

correction - you should follow your local office processing dates for all applications (ie: Spokane).

I am not sure even where you would look for NBC/Missouri as there isn't an option for it.

It has been almost 6 months since we filed my wife's AOS - still no sign of an interview date. They have response to the RFE for 7 weeks weeks now. There have been a few touches though and we did get the EAD in just over 2 months.

All APs and EADs are processed in Missouri, even my EAD letter with my EAD came from Lees Summit, MO. Local offices work only on EADs and APs of asylees, but USCIS wants to elimate that totally so that every AP and EAD get processed in Missouri.

Only emergency APs are issued by local offices.

I-485 are submitted to the local offices after preliminary processing in Missouri (that is why RFEs come from MIssouri and answers have to be sent to Missouri).

I attended two Infopass meetings. My local officer called Missouri to ask about my case, she also told me that the local DOs cannot do anything unless they conduct the interview, which is usually way after EAD and AP approval. I know it's weird, but that's how it is.

Good luck!

There is nothing abnormal going on with your case in any respect from what you're saying. Our EAD had no status updates until it was approved, and we filed it over a month before you did and only very recently got approved. We had biometrics and everything (online does not update for that) and our only online activity was one touch the day before approval and then the approval notice and letting us know they ordered a new card. So, don't fret, EAD applications are stated to take 90 days, but can take less or more, and with an RFE supposedly the 90 day clock restarts once you turn the RFE back in (but I don't know if reality reflects that, it didn't for us but it might for others).

Naturalization
